I actually don't mind playing it, but as a spectator sport I just can't get on with it, when I know that it's so readily open to match fixing, especially now the Chinese are so heavily involved

Good for you. 👍

3 of the class of 92 in the semis

Remarkable

Don't think Higgins gets a lucky loser place in the semis

Like Darts, given a year of playing 4 or 5 hours a day, you'd easily make the world top 10. If you're not knocking in century breaks after a month of playing every day, then you probably need to go and see a Doctor, as you must have some "motor control" issues. Snooker, I'd argue, is even easier to play than darts. It's piss easy. The fact that those who were the best in the world, 25 years ago, still pretty much are, shows how piss poor a sport it is.

I can't believe the BBC still show it, it must get the shittest viewing figures known to man these days. They'd be better spending the money and time showing another few episodes of Mrs Browns Boys

fat fingers, still them lot getting this far is remarkable

unsure of this is good or bad for snooker

only Chinese players coming through really now it seems, most kids playing darts instead of snooker now

Xintong is a world champion in waiting. Ronnie is on for a hammering unless he turns up soon.

Haven't caught any of his matches yet, but stuck he's only managed 1 century all tournament, and isn't winning many frames to nil - recipient of a good draw or just loses interest after the winning line?

I wouldn’t read too much into that. His long potting is as good as anyone and very cool under pressure. Safety needs some work but he is a very good player.

There must be other weaknesses beyond safety if he can only make 1 century when other semi-finalists have made 4, 7 & 11 respectively. Top players win frames at 1 visit occasionally, if you're always needing more than 1 chance you're going to need a lot of fortune to get the job done.

Oh for sure. His shot choice and positional play are not as good as some others but the overall potential is obvious and he will be a world champion if not this year then soon.

Well we'll see - he's never getting a draw this easy again, best player on the 1 year list he'll have to face before the final ranked 13th

Between that and Ronnies constant self pity it makes Williams the only likeable one of the feted 3.

He didn’t fix a match

Neither did Higgins, technically, but Zhao seems to have escaped a similar amount of criticism
