I need to get involved with NFL again, but need to choose a team. Was always a Dan Marino Miami Dolphins shirt wearing kid, but need some advice.

Which team is it worth following? Thinking about going down to Wembley to watch a game - anyone done it? Any help welcomed. Could just stick with the Dolphins and get tickets off Stub Hub for their game against New York Jets the day after the QPR game.

Which are the Liverpool/Man Utd of the NFL world to avoid?

They'll certainly be a very good side who health permitting get to the playoffs.

Once you get to the playoffs it's anyone's title.

They're 40/1

You might not want to put your mortgage on it

Thing with the nfl is that you've no idea who's going to win the thing.

Obviously the jags and titans will never be better than average.

The the browns will always be the browns.

But the rest go into each season knowing that they stand a chance of play offs.

Don't get me wrong, it's wonderfully hard to predict, but the Raiders won't get near the superbowl.

I'll be dull and say the Packers will win it, simply because they're due. Dark horse bet would be Detroit.

Packers have been slowly building and improving year on year. Hoping the title is going back to Titletown this time around.

Giants have improved defence no end this summer, to complement an already good offensive line, plus have replaced Coughlin, who had stagnated.

Will win the East, quite easily I think.

Depends if wobbly head can refrain from throwing to the opposition

After watching the Amazon and NFL Films series on the Cardinals. They really are set to win the thing if they can keep key players fit.

And if the steelers can stay off the weed then they should be there or there abouts too.

Agreed.

I know nothing about the NFL, but I messed my ankle up running, had to rest it and found myself watching that All or Nothing programme. Actually really enjoyed it, it does change it when you actually understand the reasons behind them doing things, rather than just the stop start mess I thought it was.

They don't half talk some cliche bollocks though.

The highlight of All Or Nothing is Bruce Arians and his marvellous use of profanity.

Have you watched Remember The Titans with Denzel Washington matey? Good movie, great soundtrack.

Thanks to the erudite Traf, I was alerted to Friday Night Lights which also floated my boat.

Agree that knowing what they are trying to achieve makes the game ten times better.

Nothing will ever replace proper football for me but, of all the sports I have played, gridiron comes the closest second to it for me. Superb game to play - especially on the defensive side of the line.

It's all about the defence.

Denver won the Super Bowl last time out with a pretty average offence.

Correct (and generally for all sports) mate.

Good offences win matches. Good defences win championships.

If I remember correctly, I first heard this from the late, great Bill Shankly.

Mourinho builds from the back and look at the success he has had in his career.

England need a reliable goalkeeper and two strong centre backs above all else.

Von Miller was a beast in the SB.

If you are out of contract what better way to earn mega bucks than by destroying the opposition in a super bowl

He got what he wanted, too, within a small margin of leeway.

Excellent player.

Well I might have to given them a watch now. I also was amazing by how much money flows through the game. I thought football was crazy.

Its also fascinating to watch how each part of the team is coached, it's like every team is four different parts, the amount of coaches seems crazy but I guess you can't do it any other way.

Anyway, going to start giving it a watch now. I'll have to wait to decided which team floats my boat to support.

Cards on 123. CARDS!

Don't leave out the college game matey. Mind boggling crowds and highly entertaining.

If I hadn't been lucky enough to watch the Wisconsin Badgers live twice and the Auburn Tigers live once, it would be a struggle to settle on one as there are some astonishing 'programs' out there.

Think the Longhorns are going to be a good watch this year. Shane Buechele and Tyrone Swoopes are going to entertain all the way through. Well worth a watch.

NCAA Football on Bt/ESPN takes priority over the footy on Saturdays from September to January.

There's going to be around 150,000 people at the game between Tennesse and Virginia Tech this weekend. Madness.

Like most American sports money doesn't guarantee success. The university of Texas has more money than god but haven't won the title for a good while

The longhorn set up would put a lot of NFL teams to shame, but recruiting 5 to 6 years ago was a lot to be desired, but it looks like its slowly coming around

Von Miller imperious again this morning.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand wide left.

Von Miller imperious again this morning.

Had to watch this recorded this morning.

One thing I left out of my predictions. Only a matter of time before the magnificent Cam Newton has a Super Bowl ring. Extraordinary player.

Aye even after having seven shades of shit smashed out of him by the Broncos, he still found a way to get them back in the game.

And find time to floss his teeth.

156,990 at the Va Tech v Tennessee game.

Remarkable.
