Your computer or in you case - laptop has a part that sends the picture to the screen - this is called a "graphics card" (although it might not be a card itself). This graphics card needs a program called a "driver" to run correctly, the "driver" is written specifically for the graphics card you have. You might need to go onto the website of the manufacturer of your laptop.

I have a problem with my computer. When I try to play a video it crashes straight away, but it will play them flash vid thingies.

Could this have something to do with drivers?

It could, which doesn't mean it does :-#

What in your expert opinion would you advise me to do to prevent this from happening? Some of shunky's videos seem very educational and I can't have a butchers to find out :D

Hey Zozzy, don't involve me!

:D

But as Carlos says, I'd uninstall whatever media player you have got and re-install it.

What's a PC, if you can't play video files on it ?

WMP 10 is the arse of all media players.

My advice is to either uninstall WMP 10, or use system restore and revert back to your old WMPlayer.

Word is 10 has some SP2 built in and has many conflicts in it even if you do not have SP2 installed.
