Fucking incredible. Imagine if he said "men shouldn't have an absolute right to bodily autonomy". This is fascism. To those who doubted it was creeping in - it's nearly here now.

Not really fascism mate . Bit of a exaggeration/ dramatic .
you probably believe the same as him, just from a different start point in time.

I can guarantee you I fucking don't.

Do you think women have the right to terminate a pregnancy after 26 weeks?

There's no polling I'm aware of which indicates American's views on abortion have changed. That's not how this stuff works.

The decision in the US was regards to whether there was a constitutional right to abortion, which is a matter for the courts to determine and separate from public opinion.

We don't have a written constitution, and so in our case public opinion has more relevance because any law relating to abortion rights will be drafted and voted on by Parlaiment.

Yes. I think women have the right to do whatever the fuck they want with their own bodies.

That works inversely too.

Think the law is 20 odd weeks here ( not sure exactly)

women dont have autonomy after that arbitrary date ( special circumstances aside)

what’s your time limit on termination then ?

Is there any "Polling" to suggest the UK public want the Government to re-write Legislation in order to unilaterally disrupt the Northern Ireland protocol, breaking International Law?

What's yours?

I’d go with whatever is uk law. I think it’s 20ish weeks. By which point I think abortion is actually just harmful to the mother as well.

Anytime up to 40.

After that they've probably got families of their own and it'll be a bit harsh putting them down in middle age. But can make exceptions for mouth breathers and people who say hospical

Shouldn’t answer a question with a question

id go with the law and medical advice around when the infant becomes“aware “

but my personal view would be that that happens earlier than they say, but they’re the experts.
you’d let a termination happen after that , so what time limit would you put on removing a child from the womb ?
or do you not have one?

It's none of my business what a woman does with her own body.

I’d put photos on here of 26 week old births that survived to be healthy human beings but I won’t. There is a reason it’s 24 weeks.

It’s not , no

but you wouldn’t advocate killing a child I know that

so I’ll ask again, what’s your time limit on a woman being able to make a decision on killing a child in her body .

your calling someone fascist for having a different time when that’s acceptable( or not )  so it’s only fair you answer

I agree on the point in general but you are not answering the question.

There’s a point in pregnancy when it becomes another being and so, not her body .
Despite you avoiding the question I know that you don’t advocate killing babies , so what’s your time limit on when a woman can decide to do that ?

Do you think the NHS is fascist for setting the 24 week ?

I don't need to answer anything to anyone. Especially when it's none of my business. If the NHS decides 24 weeks, that's the way it is. It's still none of my business. If we were discussing the Speed Limit, would you demand that I give you a specific number, in the same way you're doing about this?

The point is there isn't a large enough constituency among public opinion for the Government to consider proposing legislation which brings about an outright ban on abortion.

No political party is seriously advocating for it and and draft legislation would fail to pass a voye in the House of Commons.

Unless public opinion shifts dramatically that won't change.

Good.

Typical limit across Europe is 10-12 weeks. Ourselves and the Netherlands have the highest. So absolute autonomy is not practised in all of Europe. It’s still banned in a couple.

Not demanding anything chill out.
not about speed limits so going for irrelevance on that.
my point is, you said he was a fascist , I bet you you have a time limit on when you think it’s ok to terminate, otherwise you’d advocate termination on due date so long as not born.
despite disagreeing with you about the fascist remark , from your posts on here I know you wouldn’t advocate that course of action , as that would be killing a baby.
my point is , you have a limit, he has a limit . Neither of you are fascist, you just have different views on when it’s a baby and so a different time limit

Indeed. As you point out, the UK (Northern Ireland excepted) has one of the most liberal attitudes towards abortion in Europe.

I think (but stand to be corrected) Poland, Cyprus and Malta are the countries which have outright bans.
