One of the big issues at the moment is £$ exchange rate, below 1.20 now, that’s going to have massive effect on the cost of living, interest rates going to have to go up in the hope it strengthens the £. Sadly that means mortgage rate going up. No easy answers at the moment.

Well I say that but it would take something pretty radical which is unlikely.  Though for a Tory government to have the highest taxes for 70 years is incredible.  Yet BJ (so apt now) still claims taxes would be higher under Labour.

I thought you didn't care about that stuff? It was all about Sovereignty wasn't it? Pretty sure you've even stated it explicitly on here that you were happy for the UK economy to suffer for a few years as long as we left the EU.

Currently, it’s weak as piss but that’s a global issue.

It’s nothing to do with the EU pound is suffering against the dollar due to the US putting up interest rates hard and faster than we are. 

The latest IMF economic forecasts put the UK at the bottom of the pile in 2023, but our chart this week elevates the UK to fifth place out of seven by looking at average growth for the four years from 2020 to 2023.

 

That growth in 2021 won't pay our rapidly escalating bills in '23

ie Man United are fucking shit, but our chart this week looks at the Premier League from 1992 to 2013, therefore proving trhey're by far the best team in the league.

Tis true. But we also had a massive decline in 2020, so if you take 2020 to 2021 we are down 1.9%.

I think due to the pandemic, the time we were still in alignment with EU rules, general issues with supply chains post/during covid and then the Ukraine war it is generally seen that the effects of Brexit are masked somewhat.

However, it is clear to see that whilst Brexit isn't always the direct cause of issues, it never makes any of them better. Be that trade, Ireland, employment, immigration or anything else. 

If that wasn't the case then why is Mogg asking Sun readers to do his job for him or wittering about signage in Blackwall tunnel? How is/was EU law stopping you escaping a tunnel in an emergency?
