Just had a 121 with my Line Manager.

 

It was going ok until He went onto what he was unhappy about.

 

One of the things was the amount of time I spent sciving.

 

I am allowed my dinner break and 2 10 minute breaks, 1 in the mornging and 1 in the afternoon.

 

I never use my afternoon 10 minutes, but every morning I go for some breaky. It takes me about 10 minutes to get there and back, I then eat it at my desk, which I have done for the last 12 months.

 

2/3 times a week, i get him something while I am there.

 

In this 121 he said I take 10/15 minutes to get it, then another 10 minutes to eat it at my desk. He said he was nhappy that I was taking 25 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

 

I challenged him and said well you spend 10 minutes eating yours, so why can't I?

 

He replied with "Yes but im not out of the office for 10 minutes aswell, I have Maximum 10 minutes to eat it."

 

This pissed me off, so I came back with "Well you can go and get your own fuckin bacon barm from now on"

 

Ended up getting a Last Verbal Warning before it goes further, for using Violent language.

 

What a fuckin joker.

Not having a go at Garrp in particular (for a change ) but this sad little tale shows how little school prepares people for the world of work these days.

 

All the getting away with almost anything at school doesn't teach you that once at work, you have to do what the boss says, however fair or unfair you think it may be. And violent conduct and foul language will get you fired or given a warning.

On a serious note, make an official complaint, in writing, to your line manager's line manager. In it, state that for the previous 12 months, or whatever, you have been expected to go out and get your LM's breakfast. You feel that he has acted beyond his authority in asking you to do this. Because you take 10 minutes to get HIS breakfast and he expects you to have eaten your own on the journey back to the office, you feel that the verbal warning was not justified. Add a little bit about how he intimidates you all the time. They'll sh it theirselves if it looks as though you have a claim for any wrongdoing on their part.

 

Failing that, just hit the kunt!

i would just ignore what he says and dont get him his breakfast and if he says anything just say well ...........(suchabody) does it, have you had a go at them

ask yourself a simple question gaaaaaaaaaaaarp.

 

1. if it came down to a `you or him` situation who would they back up?

 

if the answer is you then he must be a gary neville so make life uncomfortable for him and he`ll get a wee bit nervous about it.

if the answer is `him` then either....

a)apologise, shuthtefukup, continue to get his butty, be nice to him and smile a lot or..

get another job.

 

it pays to grease the pole of those above you which is a basic skill that all good managers have and all lifes rubbing rags dont have
