Its so counter productive; what the fuck does a coach benefit from that- let alone the kids?

No point in getting dicked or giving a dicking at that age. As soon as I can apply some factor 50 and let kids have a laugh the better.

I fuckin hate grassroots tournaments, but this sounds like exactly why. 
 

One of the team he regularly comes up against only had one of their regulars playing (coaches son) and the rest of them are academy lads from some high end small group coaching thing. Another high ability team deliberately threw their last game so they could drop into the “Europa league” and promptly smashed the lower ability groups to “win” a trophy. 
 

At least their were no reports of violence and the bar was closed 

Exactly the reason we avoid them at all cost.

Did one before the start of the season, played a side that complete in the MYSL not BBDFL, had 5 academy lads in it, lost a 12 minute game 14-0. Knocked our lads so far back for the start of the season, it took them a few weeks to get their confidence back.

It's as bad in the cups too. They had a really good run Nov - Feb and only lost 3 games in about 17 matches. Pushed up a section and have held their own so far, but moving up a section put them in the 'Medium' ability cup. Played 2 matches against sides who were 3 sections above and one 2 sections above. First game held their own first 20 minutes at 1-1 but then lost 8-2. Second game beaten 5-3 played well and completed, 3rd game only had 5 players and smashed 9-1.

The difference in the 'high end medium' to our 'low end medium' was huge.

Under 8's mate.

We even had a friendly pre-season where the coach for the other team brought an academy lad from another team on as they were losing (we only knew this as he played for another team at our club) 🙄

We've had players rock up at HT wearing Blackpool socks and shorts and then immediately come on for Myerscough against us. It's pathetic and small time behaviour from coaches who only care about their own success
