  1. Exactly. Said it before, but just imagine the scenario that we play a weakened team, get held and Derby lose... Whilst unlikely to happen, it could and if it does, folk are chasing Evatt out of town with pitchforks and torches. Whatever decision he makes, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't unless we get the ultimate prize.
  2. The early bird offer is for Renewals isn't it? We ended up with 16k+ S.T's sold last season, including 1/2 tickets after Xmas... Those ones bought after last seasons early bird, would qualify for this seasons' early bird renewal
  3. We have to just go for this. No talk of taking it easy. If Derby slip up and we don't capitalise because we played a half-arsed team, the manager will be chased out of Town. Go for the f-kin jugular
  4. Exactly. Captain's don't have to be chest beating yellers. They set an example, set standards and are the go-to guy day-to-day.
  5. All Midweek games during school term time are free upgrade, I believe
  6. 3-0 to the super whites to put us on 85 points Then we win 2-0 on Saturday to go to 88 points while Derby get held to a draw at Cambridge, leaving them on 87 points We go to Peterborough on the 27th knowing a win will secure promotion
  7. Leeds did it and someone paid to have Osama Bin Laden's face on one of the seats

He was asked about a squad headache, to which he replied "I've moaned about injuries for the last 3 months, so I can't moan about having them all back now!"
  9. To be fair to both, there were more blocks than a lego shop in that box! Something we have to be mindful of tomorrow. Again.
  10. Also never seen a player commit as many fouls as Yengi without getting booked. 11 freekicks against him IIRC. He might not get away with as much away from home, but these refs are so shit
  11. I like Dempsey. Good energy and can shoot, but Maghoma has great ability. Yes, he's inconsistent and fades in and out of games, but if he was consistent with his quality he simply would not be attainable for us
  12. Maghoma is good at our gaff though. 2 missed tackles against reading aside! Whilst I know it'll be a battle in the middle of the park, I think a little creativity and unpredictability could be the difference and he's the most likely to find enough space to test their keeper. Whatever line up he goes for, I'll expect them to be up for it, well prepared and play on the front foot
  13. Probably his agent throwing names around. Maybe we've sent someone to take a look at him, so they've declared us as being in for him

To be fair, if we have that the ref gives a freekick. Loads of blocking, holding and a handball in there to boot Generally, I think we're pretty good at set-pieces in terms of chances created from first and second contacts and also good at defending them. Every fan thinks their team is shit at corners

You mean we're not the only team on the pitch?? 🙂 Think a lot of people need a reminder of this.. It's unfortunate I know, but we sometimes have to come up against another set of fully paid up professional athletes who spend a whole week working hard to stop us just doing whatever the feck we want
  16. Clubs report differently. Some report the actual attendance, attendance meaning actually being there Some report the number of tickets accounted for - Used or not. I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong, just that the word attendance actually means attendance and when the club say there are 25k there, or 19.5k against Oxford, that isn't actually the "attendance" attendance /əˈtɛnd(ə)ns/ noun the action or state of going regularly to or being present at a place or event. "my attendance at church was very patchy" Similar: presence appearance attending being there turning up showing up showing Opposite: absence the number of people present at a particular place or event. plural noun: attendances "she is being blamed for the museum's low attendances"

And yet our fans scream at our defenders to twat it forward

I absolutely maintain though, that if Santos says "I'm ok" and Evatt drags him anyway, he'd be getting it both barrels if we'd conceded afterwards.

It could have done. Defenders coming on cold when we're under pressure. Slack off on a set piece, or someone's a yard quicker to the ball than you expected them to be as you're not into it yet.. It can happen. Which is the exact reason you never make a defensive sub on a set piece unless you absolutely have to. It wasn't like Bristol were just chipping balls in to be headed out. They were coming after us on the deck, round the sides and in the air. The decision to keep him on was a gamble of course, but if the captain says "I can carry on", then he carries on

It's not as obvious though really. Baxter played on for a match and a bit with an injury that put him out for 2 months. Pain does not always equal injury. In Boxing, you can see it. Knees gone, or open cuts etc. Players play on with injuries ALL the time. Not many other fans would then pelt their manager for it though
  21. Yeah I know (little Britain voice) But tickets sold should not equate to attendance. Attendance is supposed to be people attending. But it's obviously commercially better for us to report the highest number possible so we can waive the figures in front of potential match day sponsors.
  22. I still think the attendance was over inflated though
  23. Yeah I saw that. 4 lads just wanted to see a game. Got the train to HP, went to the ticket office and were flat out told "No" - It's absolutely ridiculous. Potentially a couple of hundred extra quid there and they just scoffed at it. It's not the first time I've heard of it happening too. Group of lads from Scandi last season on a stag-do were going watching City on the Sunday, wanted to watch us on the Saturday and... Computer says no

Player said he was ok to continue, presumably. So continue he did. Had we taken him off when he said he was ok, then conceded, Evatt would be getting absolute pelters. Lose, lose situation for him in either scenario. At the end of the day, he got through the win and at that moment, winning that game was the most important thing.
  25. Players playing for contracts now. Managers fighting for an extension. As big an incentive as any at this level.
