You can learn bass in a day but to learn to play it well takes time and talent, of which I have neither.

You are hearing the same thing Stevie. The Four Tops vocals have just been removed (but then a snippet added back in towards the end). The Funk Brothers played on virtually every Tamla Motown track ever.
