Robotic Hoovers

I want one - got hardwood floods in hallway and extension, and with a dog and child, at this time of year in particular, they are constantly a bit dirty/grubby

so I want something that i can kick off each day that will go round and pick up all the bits of shite and dust etc

the mrs has dismissed them all as shit as she had one years ago, but it was a cheap one off wowcher or something

been having a look, you can spend anything from £150 to £600

am more inclined to try the cheaper ones, they all look the same anyway

thinking something like this at £150

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Eufy-Upgraded-Super-Thin-Self-Charging-Medium-Pile/dp/B07DDDB34D

but then there's a "new" model of that though it's £320

https://www.amazon.co.uk/eufy-RoboVac-Dynamic-Navigation-Boundary-dp-B088D1BRCJ/dp/B088D1BRCJ/ref=dp_ob_title_home

I'm not opposed to spending that if it works and i don't have to constantly keep on top of it but not if it's shite and I still end up having to get the hoover out

anyone got one? are they any good?

How much cheaper do you think it should be, that looks very reasonable to me.

It is reasonable hence doesn't qualify as "cheap labour".

Can't find cheap labour round here - gardener quoting £25/hr - although he differentiates himself from a goat by claiming he can tell the difference between the lawn and the flower beds.

Just keep it on a lead so it can't reach the flower beds

If only I had a circular lawn....:)

I'd expect about £20 or £25 per hour in reality, but make sure they get rid of the cuttings for you instead of chucking them in your bin......

You can move the lead

Gardner did that to us

Did it and fucked off before we realised

We have to pay extra to the council to have that bin emptied as well

Had the robot hoover a week now and I can heartily recommend it. I can hear it gently going about it's business while I enjoy a Christmas eve tea and biscuits in bed.

It’s “hoovering” yer missus

I got one of those from Eastern Europe a while ago, but it takes ages to do the job.

Apparently it’s a Slovak.

Aye

Ours is doing exactly what I hoped it would

Regards the delivery

The first one never turned up despite driver saying he'd left it a couple doors down

The second one turned up but the driver wouldn't hand it over until we gave him a six digit code from our order confirmation

So I don't think the first one ever existed

Think they do it if it's over a certain value, had to do similar when I got a laptop

Whilst he may not know what's in the box, as he has to ask for a code suggests he knows it's worth a few quid

yeah but he's not meant to deliver it without the code

as in, he can't mark it as delievered without the code

no idea really

not arsed though as I got a refund, and if the driver got a robotic hoover out of it, his life will now be better than it was

so happy endings all round

Where can I buy those hoovers??

Mine’s just done the whole house apart from the stairs. Did a fairly decent job of the landing carpet but nowhere near as good as the Henry to be fair. Absolute no brainer for wooden floors

Still doing its job after 4 months @Cheese😂

Exactly the same with us.
