For the U21's our boy got on when things were going pear shaped - if George was still around he would provide stats on how many goals were scored against us when Muamba was on the pitch - I would suggest less than 1. I think we were 2 - 0 down against the Welsh after 20 minutes or so when he was introduced. He is money in the bank - will be worth a few bob at the end of next season provided we get a bit of craft in midfield to 'pull the strings'.

Always enjoy a trip to Sheff U but very fond memories of facing Burnley and George (minus the ironing board) away in the cup and at home on a crucial Bank holiday. Couldn't care less really. We hate people! - as the song goes

Happy with the Goosen selection - starting to show some form and has good record at Augusta. Backed Olazabal for top European E.W at 16's but should have shopped around. Might throw in Couples as he played well last week and always makes the cut here.

I know there are some big golf fans out there! Any ideas for a bit of E.W value ?

Spanish media reaction? Was it the foaming fountains or the beach ball violence against the 'living' statues in the square that provoked the baton charges? Did we even make the local papers on the Friday? The only thing missing from this sortie was the water cannons - is there an H2O shortage in Madrid at the moment?

I reckon there is only one true Farnworth Skin - the one that owes the whole of London a pint, he dreams of Lisbon roses, cheats at darts and is a liability in the nets! He is our only man on the inside -he is the best ex pat we've got -

Aussie bet should give you some interest going into the final round. Big guns :- Scott , Ogilvy , Appleby , Allenby There or there abouts in recent Majors :- Nick O'Hern Previous Open form :- Pampling , Lonard Tournament winners in last 2 seasons :- Baddeley , Rumford Decided to leave Woods alone - might back him to charge from off the pace if he gets off to an iffy start. Final pre tournament bet for me = Kenneth Ferrie to finnish top brit at 40/1

Is Fallon caddying for him ?

Any thoughts on the golf ? Apart from "It's a good walk spoiled" ! I've had a little each way on Bjorn and Edfors. Mulling over backing Woods outright but find it difficult to back a 5/1 - 11/2 shot in a field of that size.

'England Away' and 'Human Punk' - both by John King and IMO better reads than The Football Factory 'Unreliable memoirs' - by Clive James is the funniest book I've read 'A season with Verona' - by Tim Parks . Good account of his year following Hellas Verona F.C home and away

Mick Fitzgerald has also gone for Soviet Joy as his bet of the day. Jonny's Kick will make up my double (4.15 Market Rasen) . Ran a blinder at Towcester on Tuesday and only put up 7lbs.

Thanks for the Scottish River tip - bounced back in the get me out of trouble stakes. Someone napped Colisay on the other thread. Small world as I was drinking with one of the joint owners tonight. Jockey admitted he went too early but had no choice the way the race panned out. He got 7's + for a place on betfair + 9 grand place money so the horse is back on the polos

best away following you have seen away over the years .

Anfield cup game 2 - 0 . Only time there I've seen an away following creep down the side opposite the cameras. -
Don't want to hark on about it but I think we signed that stump Peter Barnes on loan the season before Sheff U game - played his first match at Darlington away - lost 1 - 0.
-
1987/88 April 2 - Orient away . Coming from behind I think to win 2 -1 April 4 - Burnley home. Lively encounter . George getting a warm reception, another Andy May goal and a 2 - 1 win

The Peter Barnes/ Phil Neil Incident
Wobbly J replied to leigh white's topic in Terrace Talk - 'Classics'
Our line up that day :- Felgate / Brown / Cowdrill / Darby / Keeley / Winstanley / Brookman / Savage / Morgan / Thomas / Barnes (Neal on the bench) A team with an amazing lack of pace at the back and up front - and absolutely no creative talent in midfield - as the saying goes we were lucky to get nil (Good Friday -officially the most boring Bank Holiday of the year) -

I think they played Yazz's "The only way is up" on the tannoy as we were waiting to get out after the match - now those were the kind of days a grumble was fully justified. As for Ex England tricky winger Peter Barnes - a complete and utter stump. -
All we need is a decent relegation battle next season and the spark and passion will return

One of the funniest bits of news footage I have ever seen was a Wolves fan at the first game of the season falling through the stand - he somehow managed to go through the actual roof in slow motion before dropping like like a stone to the concrete below. I hope he didn't hurt himself :^o Finally found it:http://www.nearlygood.com/video/sportrooffall.html Cheers Satan - made my day I think the poor lad might have winded himself 8-[ Seeing the horses on the pitch brought back memories of our trip there - nearly got crushed trying to get out of the ground as the OB used them to keep us 'penned in'

Yeh, but it was going to happen, so which team we had to meet in the play-offs, anyway, had a great time in div 4, what with us , Wolves and Burnley in the mix. If I remember correctly Scarborough's first 3 home games were Wolves, us and Burnley - all played at the weekend. Sort of thing the 'fixtures computer' doesn't allow these days. How do you get out of jury service???
Wobbly J replied to Underpants's topic in Behind The Stands - 'Classics'
One of the few times my little 'tourettes' problem has got me out of a sticky situation. - had me out of the Courtroom quicker than you could shout "you guilty mother fukcer" -
This weekend I shall mostly be losing money on the horses and the footy but I always feel obliged at this time of the year to have a punt on the golf. Backed - Olazabel (33/1) and Stenson (80/1) E.W. last weekend , both have since been cut by Ladbrokes. Genuinely think Olazabel is in with a shout - great record at the event , playing well and drawn with 2 other short arses who don't hit the ball very far. Woods may have to drop out - not sure if a rule 4 applies in golf?

Ugly bloke walks into his local with a big smile on his face. Landlord asks "What are you looking so smug about?" Ugly bloke says " Walking home last night I spotted a gorgeous bird tied to the railway tracks. Cut her free and one thing led to another and I shagged her 5 times before the sun came up." Landlord not convinced by the ugly blokes tale enquires " I take it she gave you a blow job?" "No" responds the ugly bloke. "I searched for ages and ages in the dark but still couldn't find her head." Must be a SEB but I tried a general search on "Blow job" and came up with 308 hits - couldn't be arsed to trawl through.

Make a sensible offer - over 3 months repayment offer they should ask you for detailed income/expenditure details but they can still accept. As long as your not taking the Mickey they should listen - big factor is keeping/making them believe you'll make future payments on their due dates. Don't ignore/bin any demands Best of Luck

On the plus side - when you have a piss the morning after it smells as if someone has sprayed a load of air wick haze around the bog. I quote from the can :- "a deliciously clean crisp scent of juicy apples combined with the floral perfume of wild honeysuckle to revitalise and enliven your home"
