  1. There's nobody else they can send to the Reebok, we seen off Knight and Riley, Stiles going the same way and Halsey is seen as the club's poodle.
  2. Gardner has exceptional pace and good anticipation, which means his interception rate is high. Not yet the strongest tackling in one-on-one situations, but definately a great season at the back.
  3. Yery disappointed with the club today. I know there have been other opportunities this week. But 60 seconds once every 10 years isn't too much too ask is it?

To be fair Etherington and Konchesky had already got past O'Brien a few times, but Hunt did nothing to suggest he is remotely close to ousting O'Brien on a regular basis.
  5. My dad was also there that day on the embankment, he was 22 at the time and lived not far away in Rishton Lane. He says kids never went through the turnstiles always underneath for free, people also climbed over the wall and over the railway track at the back - he worked on the railway at the time. I remember the terracing on the early 70's being crap on the embankment, dread to think what it was like in the 40's. Like others I am amazed at how far people travelled in those days to see the Mighty Whites, expect a lot of blokes had spent the previous 7 years away fighting in the war, only to come back and be killed at a footy match. Respect to all those killed there and others who have died in football tragedies.
  6. Anyone else old enough and sad enough to remember this song before the game - not at the Reebok "here we are superwhites, here we are superwhites superwhites of Bolton Wanderers here we are superwhites, here we are superwhites the boys from Burnden Park In the league or cup, we wont give up we'll fight with all our might through the wind and rain, we'll play the game bolton superwhites"
  7. Hard done by over the two legs. If only we had seen those last 15 secs of the first half out instead of giving the ball away cheaply...........
  8. Not worth ??3.5m, but don't think Sander Westerveld would agree with you about the cows arse :D/
  9. There's only one stat that Gartside's inerested in. Even ignoring concessions the average take yesterday was probably ??25 per person = ??425K 25000 at a reduced take of ??15 per person = ??375k
  10. Shocker -Alan Boswell - for those of us from an older generation Entertainer - Charlie Wright, used to do his shopping on Bolton market
  11. Nakata's touch was really poor and he gave away possession in some really good positions. Nolan kept battling, but looks knackered - needs a rest.
  12. Thought JJ had his best game in a white shirt for some time today. Still lost his shooting boots, but his passing was excellent for the most part.
  13. Very True. You would only pay 5k for that in Little Hulton or New Bury.
  14. Sorry, no offence. Didn't realise there was actually some method to this site - never looked on the banter board before.
  15. They've bought in Cobham so that she can pop round the corner and watch Eidur training :-$ ITK FACT Said Graham Le Saux was the next door neighbour - Ian's mind at rest.
  16. Behave the times, ffs i struggle with reading the sun. I didn't actually pay cash for it, found it on a slow train journey to Brum this morning.
  17. Forgot to mention that she said they had been burgled (scousers probably) whilst Ian was away this season playing in Europe. They had knicked her ??75K car, and rifled her drawers and got ??20k in other stuff.
  18. Thought I'd come and join you, instead of just watching from the outside. Just wondered if anyone else had seen The Times today. In the Homes pull out bit there was a feature of the delightful former page 3 model Suzi(?) Walker and there new ??2million home in Cobham, Surrey. Worth reading just to see her. She claims the Chardonnay character in Footballers Wives was based on here. The Walkers also have a ??1million pad in Marbella. Now I know where my ??25 ticket money tomorrow is going.
