    Good, he’s shite
  2. He’s rapidly ascending the Greenidge scale
  3. Parky’s spotted what his strengths and weaknesses are and is playing him in a position (actually 2) that suit them. Evatt kept shoehorning him into a midfield 2, he’d be no better at Wrexham doing that role than he was here. Ask him to run all day and whip balls in when he can and you’ve got a decent player.
  4. The way I see it too. Points wise, a win doesn’t get close to rectifying the damage of the past 6 games, but morale and fan sentiment would be completely transformed with a decent win here.
  5. I’m taking the piss (although I imagine it’s those ‘more set in their ways’ that hate it). I don’t think it’s gospel, I think the way it’s calculated has many flaws, I think the calibration point across leagues is fair, I think the context of chances can’t be put into a stat and to be honest I hate the over analysis of football that has seen the game - especially at the top level - turn into one big game of chess played by systems rather than players. Having said all that, when you compare it across teams in the same league and you see that we score nowhere near as many goals as our chances and positions suggest we should, whilst others score more goals than they would be expected to, I don’t think it’s ridiculous to use it to back up the conclusion that we all see on the pitch - we’re fucking terrible at converting our chances and with a better striker we’d have more points. It’s as simple as that for me.
  6. And that fucking AI can piss off whilst we’re at it. And why do we need electric cars? And don’t get me started on emails, what were wrong with a written letter? 😂😂
  7. I wanted Rosenior in May-24. He’s now Chelsea manager. I’ll let you know who we should get next as I clearly know my stuff 😏
  8. At first I thought it was luck. But over half way into a season it’s not luck, it’s a genuine trend. We need a decent keeper and a proven goalscorer
  9. Maybe so, but when compared across just our league it’s a comparable metric - ie same non-calibration for all of us. Is it flawed? Yes. Does it put a statistic to what we all see on the pitch? Yes. Even today we miss a sitter and several ‘good’ chances. Gale had a couple in the first 20 mins that weren’t pot shots, Burstow misses another sitter. xG just puts a number to it and compared to the rest of the league we can’t finish our dinner.
  10. I don’t disagree with you, I think there are plenty that love the chaos and the ability to use it as a way to vent anger from wider frustrations. BUT Bolton winning a league game in the third tier is not a big deal. It’s expected. No WhatsApp’s are lighting up because we beat Northampton at home. Not winning in this league is a big deal and will get far more attention. The lows are much lower than the highs are high. It will change when we finally get out of this shithouse of a league.
  11. More likely sign of him losing his grip on things than the run of form we’re in. Making decisions like that is up there with calling individual players out and questioning the fans in press conferences - it’s a slippery slope that doesn’t tend to end well. It won’t be taken well by the players and to do it to someone of Sheehan’s stature in the team is a very strange decision! I can only imagine the shit slinging that’s going on from those that aren’t even making the squad (of which there are a lot seeing as we’ve got such a big squad) and I don’t think it takes a huge leap to suggest things aren’t all rosey behind the scenes.
  12. Bolton Wanderers fans will not accept being a 3rd tier team for very long. Exceptional circumstances and notable progress for a couple of years allowed for some leniency - that ran out when Oxford turned us over without a shot on target. Every season from then, whether we have any right to or not, we will expect to get promoted (which really means top 2 to avoid the play off lottery). No manager will be afforded time, excuses won’t wash and the fans will turn a lot more quickly than we have over the past 10 years. We’re right in the thick of it now. You can’t take 5 points against Wycombe, Rotherham, Mansfield, Doncaster, Northampton and Peterborough and expect anything different. It is what it is and it won’t change until we’re winning multiple games in a row and moving up the league. He needs to suck it up, figure it out and get a team on the pitch next Saturday that has the bollocks to kick start our season again. Not going up is failure and I wouldn’t be giving any manager the luxury of having another go at it if they don’t get us promoted.
  13. To add to that… It was unlikely we were going to go up via the top 2 before today, it was pretty much already at the point of play offs or nothing. Tonight that is still the case I think if I change my expectation to play offs rather than autos then I might be slightly less pissed off with the useless bunch of twats.
  14. We just need to be better at football
  15. Keep him for the Wigan game - beating them is the one thing he can do!
  16. Ignoring the specifics of how it’s calculated, would you not agree that we miss chance after chance, but it takes fuck all for the opposition to score against us? That’s essentially what xG is saying. I’m not using it to defend us at all, it’s shit, we’re shit, but when I see that it rings very true with what I watch. We need to create a hell of a lot of chances to get a goal, yet our defence and keeper only need the slightest pressure and it’s in the back of our net.
  17. Bolton xG - 1.89 Posh xG - 0.97 Think what you want about it, but it’s another game where we’ve conceded goals we shouldn’t have and not scored the chances we should have. It’s a fucking terrible combination.
  18. That late goal is a sickener. A draw in that would have been a great result.
  19. They’ve just narrowly beaten Radcliffe after losing to Chester and Buxton. They’re not far off dog and duck. Anyway, if you’re a commentator then you’re not going to take into account rich people in Cheshire - you’re going to state a sensationalist fact makes you sound interesting.
  20. It technically is though, isn’t it? Sure they said it was the largest gap between 2 teams ever in the cup.

Like I said. As for the winning it before - he’s got different players, you can’t just do the same thing with different players (see Amorim). I’m far from happy with how it’s going, but his conclusion that if we’d put the ball in the net when we should do we’d be much better off is completely valid. Even v Northampton, we were shit, we played awful, but we missed 2 of the most simple headers going which would have won us the game. If we have a 2nd half to the season with as positive a goals scored vs xG as our first half was negative then we go up.
  22. Is that Luke Matherson that was at us that’s just come on for Macc?
  23. Eddie replied to Ratwhite's topic in Terrace Talk
xG says he’s right and you’re wrong … followed by you telling us it’s all a bag of shite.
  24. For me, that’s as strong as we can currently go away from home. Question on Tutu’s defensive side but he’ll get more out of ACD and Posh are generally rapid so it makes sense not to have Christie in there. 2-1 Bolton. Dempsey and Sheehan
  25. Eddie replied to Ratwhite's topic in Terrace Talk
Excellent. Buy a keeper (not hard to find one at least as good as TSL - likely on an 18 month contract) and then we can get another loan in the starting 11… “Hi Paris, fancy playing football again?”
