Would it be fair to say that “poorer” towns and cities tend to be the areas where the bulk of immigrants end up settling ?
For example, most of the leafy towns of the Home Counties such as Witney, Guildford, caterham, oxford tend to have very few immigrants as compared with Crawley, Hounslow and many others?
These are areas where social benefits are a reality, and where the seeds of resentment fall on fertile ground.
If the government insists on sending immigrants to these areas they will reap what they sow.
It’s not the fault of the immigrants, who genuinely need our help, nor even the fault of the poorer types born and raised in the uk.
But putting them in geographical pens was always going to lead to this.
