  1. And then suddenly it was easy. Chance to salvage something from this season now then
  2. Thought we'd piss it with the England boys back, but making very heavy going of this
  3. I've only got half an eye on it, but Ameobi looks like he's playing in a lads v dads game
  4. Just thinking the same thing when I popped on the BBC site
  5. Very very (very) tight https://www.kiaoval.com/main-news/live-stream-surrey-v-lancashire-day-4/
  6. Shame that Hameed finally found a bit of form in the 2nds and immediately we have a pink ball gimmick match. Fingers crossed we get over the line - otherwise looking like pre-season favourites are getting relegated.

Is now about the right time to sarcastically suggest we might win this, whilst really harboring a faint, ridiculous hope?
  8. It sounds like a fantasist invented a conversation and has now been contradicted by everyone else present

oh well, Lancashire have had a good first session

Aye - if Root wants to query dodgy decisions, there's one he could reflect on from 1030 yesterday. Need a big partnership from 5th, 6th or 7th wicket to get anywhere near them, but even then will be a long hard slog batting last

Looks very hard work; need these two and Woakes to turn up as I don;t fancy anyone else in our side if it doesn't flatten out.

Morning like that certainly polishes up the card. Hopefully not a bowling day from now on!

I don't know, QPR looked up for the fight today. Proud team.

Gonna be some smug Yorkshire folk watching Rashid right now. Wasn't a bowl first pitch - can't blame Root for assuming India would be terrible again, but hasn't been anything out of the ordinary in the surface to discount the default bat first option

Nice gimme to end the session and stop it being a good one for them

Nice to get rid of Dhawan - when he's not a walking wicket he scores worryingly quickly

Doesn't look like a bowl first toss yet alas

Stokes and Curran both played the first Test match, and it was Curran who won the game for England - very poor to drop him 10 days later (after another decent performance inbetween)
  19. Surprised you didn't go for Best of the Beatles
  20. Jordan Clark going to Surrey next year - bit of a disaster frankly if we can't keep one of the few players we have who have performed this year
  21. We're picking teams with 6 or 7 spinners and barely any specialist batsmen, it's absolutely mental. 2 signings in the last month and both left arm spinners. Anyhow, Hameed made a unbeaten 100 for the 2nd XI yesterday - proper cricket back on Sunday so fingers crossed he wakes up from the ongoing nightmare.
  22. There was never a year of net migration over 100k before Blair, and never one with net migration below 100k after Blair - google the trend if you like and there is a very clear spike which has grown ever since. You can argue over the rights and wrongs, but he definitely sped up the pace significantly.

Lots of highly publicised accusations of homophobia during the trial, now afterwards this - https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/aug/14/gay-couple-say-ben-stokes-did-not-deserve-to-face-trial Bit weird they weren't called, but hey ho

Indeed, it would have been hard to pick a tactical route which wouldn't have won from that position once the rain stayed light enough to play though. Nice for Woakes but shame Jimmy didn't get MoM - 5fors are much rarer than centuries and 9 wickets in the match even more so. It's a batsman's game!
