Dropping to the 4th tier worked out well for Man City as well. And it's almost certain we are going to be in the 4th tier next season - can't see any other outcome as things stand.

It was the deadline for bids today. The administrators then have to go away and decide who was the winning bid. That could take weeks knowing their ability to drag things out..

Club statement: It is with a combination of outrage and disgust that I have to inform Bolton Wanderers fans that the deal to sell the club to Football Ventures has been temporarily suspended in the last hour. Late this afternoon, we were informed by lawyers acting for Laurence Bassini that he had been awarded a court order attempting to prevent the sale of Burnden Leisure Limited, part of an action against a company owned by Ken Anderson. It beggars belief that Mr Bassini, a man who publicly professed to care passionately for the club, has now, through his actions, threatened its very existence. Despite a long and hugely complex process of negotiation, we were finally on the brink of completion this afternoon when Bassini’s order was served. Our lawyers are now in conversation with Counsel in a bid to overturn the order immediately.

Wonder why it's not appeared on any other news outlets other than the Jewish Telegraph yet. Particular Talksport who seem to get all the Bassini exclusives. Especially now that he seems to be wandering around Manchester telling anyone who will listen.

How can it all have gone? I thought to be a preferred bidder, they had to prove to the EFL they had enough cash to sustain the club for "at least 2 seasons". Did they get carried away on the bandwagon and lump it all on the away win at Wycombe like the rest of us did?

What happens if they get withdrawn from the league in terms of relegation places this year. Presume it will be 3 down/4 up to fill the gap left by Bury, then bring 1 extra up from non-league?

Is the "lower tier" only due to trying to save costs (less stewards, not opening all the bars, etc)? If they ever want to do that, would it make more sense to just open 2 of the 4 stands, e.g. East and North. They're still only opening half the stadium, so should get the same cost savings, but could charge more for the people who would rather go upper tier. And could potentially only open the snack bars on the ground floor anyway, the upper tier lot could walk down.

This will change when we play Tranmere.

Times change. My dad used to drag me to games in the 70s with him. It was cold, wet, piss ran down the terrace and soaked my feet, and I couldn't see anything as I was surrounded by much taller grown ups shouting words I shouldn't have been hearing. Then one season he moved to the seats, and I could see the game. Magic happened. It became fun, Big Sam, Worthy, Peter Reid became my heroes. And then we became shit, dropped to the 4th division. My dad stopped going (presumably having the same wobbles a lot of us are having now). So I stopped going too. Grew up, went to Uni and away from Bolton. Started going to occasional away games on Saturday's around the country by train. Moved back to Bolton, got a job, we started our meteoric rise and I started going to all the home games I could with me old school chums. Got the first season ticket when we moved to the Reebok. Had one ever since. Moved away from Bolton. Got married. Had kids. Always said kids should support their home town team, which makes me a hypocrite if I try and get them to be Bolton fans as they weren't born anywhere near it. Oldest kid doesn't really like football. Youngest does, he loves watching it on telly, plays in an U11s team and is quite good. Dragged him to several random BWFC games when my wife had plans and I had no choice - every single one over the past couple of years we lost and didn't even score. He hated it. That magic that happened when my dad took me has yet to happen for him. It's a 60 mile round trip for me to home games now. God knows how much that costs me in petrol over a season. Since we went shit, it's been more of a hassle than something I look forward to. It's not really about the football anymore, more the pints + chinwag with mickbrown in the pub before and after the game that keeps me going. Having the season ticket auto renew and by direct debit just keeps delaying the inevitable. I've got the magic bit of plastic in my wallet that gets me into home games, so I may as well still go. I would love it to be about the football again, but season after season after season that just ain't happening...

It's not "our" website though is it, once you click on tickets it takes you off to the eticketing.co.uk/bwfc Ticketmaster website. The same one used by most other clubs, eg. coventry is at eticketing.co.uk/ccfc, and the same Ticketmaster servers that can handle millions of people trying to buy 100000s of tickets when the major gigs go on sale. That's not going to be affected by a few thousand people trying to buy a BWFC ticket at all.

Means there must be more to this than simply pulling the ticket sales so they can have a think about revising prices after the STs outburst.
