Seems to me like our situation has been a bit a wake up call to other clubs. Debts, owners who want to ride the cash cow, etc

Is the tide turning? In the past, who gave a fuck if a club was in trouble. Now, it's almost like everyone's coming together as the realisation that whilst the top 6 in the Prem get ever richer, everyone else is in massive danger of the bubble bursting

Our problems seem to have hit a nerve with other clubs who recognise that they are not that far from being us

Surprised your plight and Burys hasn't brought about wider support. 22 years ago when this happened and hundreds of Brighton returned the favour in 2011

I did say when we started scavenging their carcass it didn't sit right after it happened to us 

There were a few Bury fans at our game at Crewe on Saturday who wanted to thank Lowe &co for last season.

Yes, I think the football fans have realised they are their owners from getting bored away from being in our position.

The game bankrupt because so much money is going to players & agents. It quickly needs to self regulate to stop it imploding.

Forgetting football finances though, it has been refreshing to see Wycombe and Coventry standing with us. There’s also been much love of our following at Wycombe from other fans on Twitter. I’m not saying we’ll take numbers like that everywhere but we need to take the positive energy everywhere this season in particular, it’s gonna be a tough one

I've been an outsider watching in on TT for the past 5/6 months. I have had an healthy rivalry with Bolton for years and found myself developing a soft spot for you because of that clown KA. And then the troubles set in at my club ( the Shaggers).

One thing that has been obvious is that at the end of the day we are all fans of our own club - but football fans together. Likewise we have had visits to the website from various others club's fans - the majority who are supportive and feel our pain. Okay you get the odd rubber necker who is enjoying it and wants you to disappear.

We have had a few decent fans from on here post on our board as well - thanks for that.

But . . . being in a similar boat I was wondering if you had seen this:

If any club goes under the EFL has blood on its hands.

If we go under I might even find myself dropping in to a game at the Unibol - something I would never have done until now unless it was v. Bury.

This will change when we play Tranmere.

 

Folk are getting too soft. All this #footballfamily bollocks.

The thought of the likes of Bury, Tranmere, Wigan and Man Utd disappearing without a trace is a nice one. 

Alas, only one of those looks likely.

They might be better with "The Shagged"

Local /historic rivalries aside I think the animosity from other teams fans is less than it was, aside from the dick heads who go to the footy for a scrap.

Agreed. The more football family sympathy I/we receive a little more dies.

 

I love the self imposed nickname - 'we're known as the Shaggers' - no mate, you're really not!

I do share some of the sentiment though. I'd hate to see Bury or even Tranmere go to the wall.  Stuck in non league certainly but not to disappear altogether.

Wigan are the exception though.  I'd happily watch those dirty morons go up in flames
