I once bought £200 worth of Burnden Leisure shares when they first went public (like I'm sure many on here did). Think they were 10p a share? Wasn't that long before they were 0.0001p a share or something and we were told BDL was no more. Whatever happened to those? I still hear the name Burnden Leisure, is it a different entity. Am I still a shareholder??

Our average attendance when in the premier league... 2002 25,098 2003 25,017 2004 26,795 2005 25,911 2006 25,455 2007 23,606 2008 20,901 2009 22,486 2010 21,881 2011 22,870 The challenge if and when we get back up is keeping those 6000 who disappeared between 2004 and 2008. Interesting also the game vs Birmingham 1 year ago yesterday had 21,097 - higher than the 2008 PL average.

Bassini being bankrupt simply cannot have the money, so he must be being used as a front by someone else. Maybe simply because he has been through the legal process before of buying a football club. Big Sam with foreign backing??

They only formed the company a few weeks ago with the sole intention of buying the club. Once bought the company address will presumably be the stadium, so just needed any old address for correspondence to start with I guess..

So what is the delay if the terms were agreed 2 weeks ago and they have substantial funds, and then we got the "deal within 48 hrs" last Wednesday... If the above is true, I can't see why this isn't all done and dusted by now.

I think it all stems from those protests and the insults to his family - he's the kind of person who wants revenge, and this is just a big game to him, he's got a secret desire to destroy the club now, as long as he still gains financially. And ironically, if he hadn't been insulted and told to stay away by police, he may have read that letter that was sent to the stadium.

Well it's always been there as a viable alternative and don't forget from his "notes from the chairman".. "Business life is just not like that and sometimes I have had to make difficult decisions that obviously don’t make me popular and I can assure you that if there had been a viable alternative I would have taken it. Jardel's post-football career is "interesting"... In the 2014 general election, Jardel was elected to the Chamber of Deputies on the Brazilian Social Democratic Party ticket, with 41,000 votes.[37] According to Brazil's Public Prosecutor's Office, Jardel and 10 other people have extorted staff, nominated fake members and diverted funds for their own benefit. The Prosecutor's Office finished the accusation in February 2016 as a result of the investigation started in 2015 (Operação Gol Contra), triggering the process to terminate Jardel's term in the Chamber of Deputies. Fellow politician Marlon Santos stated at the time that Jardel was involved in activities "which are not compatible with parliamentary ethics". Jardel was also accused by Santos of being involved in drug trafficking, with Santos stating "There is clear proof that the car allocated by the parliament has been used to drive drug dealers around".[38] On the 8th June 2016, the Parliament Ethics commission approved the request to terminate Jardel's term. The case was transferred to the Constitution and Justice Commission, who approved the case in December 2016. A final vote was held in the Parliament in December 2016 where it was unanimously decided to terminate Jardel's term.[39]

Macron Stadium
I feel sorry for the people who put all the brown signs pointing to the Reebok Stadium all over town/motorways not so long ago.

Dougie Freedman - New Manager
I think keeping Sammy Lee as coach is almost as important as getting the right man above him. His short stint as manager is best left forgotten, but as coach under Big Sam he ticked all the right boxes.

Now The Dust Has Settled
I've just had a look at the Championship table, and about 20 of the 24 that are in it next year are teams that have been in the Premiership. Which means the old relegation joke of having to go to places like Grimsby week in week out no longer applies, it really is like a Premier League 2. Also means it will be a right bastard to get out of. And more worryingly, the teams coming up into it from League 1 are also ex-Premiership. BUT.. as this thread is about, now the dust has settled, financial considerations aside, this is maybe a good thing. The years of finishing 8th, 6th, 8th in the Premier are long behind us. Do we really want another season like the last 3, gazing up the table at teams like Norwich, Swansea, Wigan... Football is like a rollercoaster, the drops are scary but you can't have the rises without them.

Renewing my ST today. I was holding off till I knew what division we were playing in, but I don't know why I did that as it makes no difference where we are, I'll always get one..

Moaning
News from other games surely trickles through, and how would it have affected our players in the final few minutes knowing that City were heading into injury time not needing one goal but two.. some will almost certainly have had their heads down, and who would blame them, no one in their right mind would have expected them to win it at that stage. If City were ahead, maybe, just maybe, our players would have had just that little bit more oomph in the final couple of minutes to batter Stoke (in the same way City battered QPR as it turned out). Did Bogdan go up for the last corner??

Fa Cup Semi-Final
Chelsea are probably assuming it is Spurs who get through, and if that happens then I can see the attraction of a Friday evening game... but would be a pain in the arse if we got there.

Fabrice Muamba
Lets have a minutes clapping , whooping, jumping in the air, waving arms around. Just a general minute of happy jollity to let out our relief. Lets even get the two fat blokes with the flags to run around the entire pitch for the whole minute too. On second thoughts, maybe not, we'd have to get the defibrillators out again.
