The Committee to look at his position has 7 members. The chairman (Bryant and one other) are Labour. One is SNP. There are 4 Conservatives: Sir Bernard Jenkin, who is an independent-minded Tory, one who is an aid to Liz Truss, one from a red wall seat, and one who is a lawyer with a future as a minister. Any or all could vote against Johnson; in fact I would say it is more likely to be unanimous against him than to be 4-3 in his favour.

And played well throughout for a 10 wicket victory. Spare a thought for Ben Compton. On the field for the whole match. Carried his bat for 104* in first innings and last man out for 115 in second. Batting for over 14 and a quarter hours, he is not like his grandad - more of a Boycott.

Jon Dadi B played first 89 minutes of that Euro 2016 game, whereas Eidur remained on the bench.

Denmark had set up (but not implemented) an arrangement with Rwanda, so this turkey was oven-ready. Australian statistics seem to show that illegal entry by boat dried up soon after the Nauru arrangement came into operation. It doesn't follow that the same will happen with those trying to cross the channel.

Pay rises
My pensions have gone up by varying amounts. The main one by 7.5%, state pension by 3.15% (because of the lower interest rate used to calculate the Contracted-Out Deduction), my SERPS optout by 8.5%, my smaller scheme pension by 5.0%, my L&G annuity by 10.0% and my tiny Prudential annuity is fixed so 0.0%.
