Never mind all that shit, when it really comes down to it we are where we are because we didn't fix the roof while the sun was shining. We should have spent the millions on the youth system and training ground when Allardyce was here, used our momentum to fund our own development not pissed it away over the years on overpriced old guys. They obviously gave us some amazing times in the short term but were never going to lead to long term success without building a foundation behind the scenes.
Right, as far as I can tell an individual is only required to pass the fit and proper test if they own over 30% stake in the club, so seeing as it's going to be a consortium with the majority of the capital coming from other sources if Allardyce is involved he won't be subject to passing the tests.
Regardless there is nothing in the rules that specifically mentions owning and working for separate clubs as a conflict of interest but that part of the process does seem to have a degree of objectability to it, there are references to people who own broadcasting companies or politicians likely failing as there would be conflicts but equally there is previous cases where people in similar positions have been allowed.
I just cannot see where the capital is coming from... It may be that they just acquire the club and the Davies' retain the assets and we lease the football relevant ones. I'm also wary of the apparent lack of business experience. The grass isn't always greener.
You'vd got to wonder, either someone has a very active imagination and lots of free time or there's something about all of this stuff. Now I'm inclined to believe it's bollocks as it's all just a bit mad but where has it all come from?
Far from it, family friend of mine and he's one of the nicest blokes you'll meet and deserved much better than he got. Turned the job down twice previously because he knew this would happen but I'd say he's much better off out of that rat hole and he'll land himself a good coaching role soon enough.

Prince, Wheater, Derik
Pisano, Spearing, Vela, Casado
Davies, Clayton
Madine/Shola
I've gone for Pisano and Casado purely because none of our "wingers" can defend in the slightest.
God forbid we give a player with genuine resale value a long term contract on perfectly fair wages for a player of his ability in this league.
It might genuinely be the only bit of good business we've done in about 2 years.
It seems to be a contentious issue on here with some but at this point why not? Not sure Woolery is the answer for goals but he could offer something on the wings.
The only argument I've seen against Jamie Thomas is he's not got enough of a well rounded game for Lennon, who gives a shit!? We need goals and he has that knack and the confidence to get them. Give him 5 games, if it works then happy days we've got another young player we've developed further increasing our asset value and making us better, if not then ah well at least we tried something.
Well Hooper, Bridcutt and Ola John are 3 players on loan (or about to be) to Championship clubs in positions that we could do with improving. Could argue wages may be steep but likes been said cut 5-7 players for youth cover and you'd reclaim s fair wedge.
Better than being the 42nd best team in the country? In the grand scheme of things they're doing okay. Coaching can only take you so far, at some point the talent has the bigger impact and for talent you have to pay.
"We were properly shit weren't we? Couldn't keep the ball or do anything with it, they're all a bit pish but what can you do? Half of them are on about 15p and a variety pack of Walkers between them." - Neil Lennon 31/10/15
