  1. Got this lad on a loan with an option, similar to the Cissoko deal. Proper unproven, but a good age and exciting if he hits the ground running. Style wise from what little is out there he reminds me a bit of that Rayan lad at Bournemouth.
  2. Aye, building his own personal wealth and assets. The fucking charlatan.
  3. This is the French winger. Kyliane Dong.
  4. I know we're riding on a high and he's a great character and finished the year in fine form, but i just don't believe that's true. Madine was soft and had a stinking attitude, but in terms of footballing ability I think he was significantly clear of what Dalby is. They're just different players entirely in my eyes. I know people have likened Dalby to Kevin Davies, I think for me the player he's most resembled for us in the past would be Jutkiewicz, strong as an ox, brings others in to the game around him, occupies multiple defenders and will score you goals through bravery and presence. But I saw Madine score free kicks, run past players and score from 20+ yards, I don't think you're ever getting that from Dalby.
  5. It would appear it does actually delay their investigation, so you are correct it basically gives him free reign if he were to lose to shout from the sidelines and politically in theory unscathed in his eyes. The issue comes if he does win, the investigation carries on and by all accounts reaches the conclusion that he will be suspended, therefore triggering another by-election.
  6. The thing I don't understand is, if this by-election gets wrapped up before the Standards Commission make their decision and inevitably suspend him for a significant time, that will just trigger yet another by-election anyway. This won't reset or supersede that process.
  7. Yeah absolutely, I think any team willing to take either on loan it's a given it won't be for their full wage.
  8. This could be the funniest possible outcome, god I hope the people of Clacton wake up to these shenanigans and send the prick packing. Restore will be a big issue for them here.
  9. He's just absolutely waffling and wanted an unchallenged platform to spout his rebuttals where he can't be picked apart by the interviewer.
  10. What's this going to be then? Burying his head in the sand and waiting for it all to blow over or is he proper running off and trying to get a word in before the full truth comes out?
  11. Not the name I've heard. The one we've had discussions with would be a loan from Europe, not the best record.
  12. Don't imagine we'll have much luck selling him, same issue we'd have moving McAtee on, the lads all got a bump in pay with promotion. Only option for us really is to find someone willing to cover a portion of their wages for the year. I think McAtee is on something around £12,500 a week now.
  13. We did. Essentially got him for free and they got rid of a wage. His contract is until next summer. In slightly related news there's talk of a keeper coming on loan from a Prem club, I've not heard that from where I usually do so pure guess work but Pierce Charles is being bought by City from Sheffield Wednesday so could be an immediate loan back out for the lad?
  14. Funny isn't it, Club refer to him as "Sporting Director" but on his own LinkedIn he has his role as "Director of Football"
  15. Me too! I take the bits I get with a pinch of salt now, they've definitely battened down the hatches a more since the start of the window. And that's a good thing by the way, I shouldn't be hearing about the stuff I do.
  16. It almost certainly is about us, like I've said before Schuey had to be convinced about Stephenson and I think Watson as well. It's nowhere as dramatic as is being made out though, he could have completely vetoed them if he wanted, but didn't because he saw the value in the moves in the end.
  17. I believe he triggered an extension clause in his contract based on appearances.
  18. I've just been lead to believe that Famewo has been signed as our Left Back, so Conway is already his backup/rotation. So rather than another LB we need, it's actually cover at LCB required, unless they back Inwood to make the step up.
  19. If it were me, Keeper would have been up in the Top 5 of our priorities. I believe it hasn't been a focus of the recruitment team's this summer, given the budget and amount of holes to fill i can understand the logic but I do worry it will cost us more than a couple of times before January where we inevitably make a move.
  20. I'd argue we also still need another right back, we can't be having Christie start games for us in the Championship.
  21. Think it's the versatility that's a positive again with this one, will do the GJ role of being able to play both LCB and as a defensive LB when the situation requires. I think we'll still be after two fullbacks, and that's in addition to Luca if that is indeed done.
  22. The names I heard last week are starting to pop up on Twitter now, so I believe Ibrahima Balde a striker from the French 2nd league and Akin Famewo a left back/centre back from Hull are done apparently. I know absolutely nothing about either of them.
  23. Can only image if that was years ago that number would have to be higher now given the increase in energy prices and staffing costs. Of course ticket prices have increased but at nowhere near the same rate.
  24. If this is the case then we can all agree that my mate's mate is full of shit and I won't bother you with his tidbits ever again.
  25. Suppose that's the idea with the theoretical devolution of the civil service and this "No 10 North", they can be used as a support structure for the money going to the local infrastructure. Hopefully a model that can be replicated in other regional hubs, further streamlining Westminster and their centralised powers. I get, and like, the idea but the main thing will be the detail of how that will actually materialise. The markets seem positive for now so that's the first sign that it has merit.
