  1. My dad was a Bus Driver and Two Flashes and Out was the motto 🙂 Coincidentally he ended his career diving a hearse around Bolton. I actually worked as a Driving Instructor for five years , leaving traffic to park by the side of the road and then re-joining was a big thing then, a candidate could be asked to do this three or four times during a test. If the driver signalled unnecessarily it would be booked as an error as it was a sign that they were possibly not assessing the traffic situation and doing by rote... if they did it several times then it was game over, a friend of mine failed his instructor test for this reason, he said afterwards I was wondering why she (examiner) kept asking me to park and every time her pencil twitched! He really should have known better. The Police Driving Manual refers to unnecessary signalling as "signal clutter"
  2. I am in a really good mood this morning, I know it was a red tribute act we beat but its done me good especially as we stuck it up Neville & co
  3. Spot on Information is priority, ie observation and hazard awareness Then we move onto Position-Speed-Gear-Accelerator I recommend everyone should have some refresher/advanced training... you will enjoy your driving more
  4. The atmosphere in the Sky studio after the match reminded me of when England had lost
  5. I'm shouting at IE on the tv Smile you fkkr, smile!
  6. Done the Munich Lite and well happy
  7. Are you Bolton in disguise?
  8. Some crowd noise to help things along: Oh Manchester is full of Shit Manchester is full of shit Shit, Shit and more Shit Oh Manchester is full of shit Trad folk song
  9. Spot on Coming on the telly now so see you at half time and I'm back on my Guinness and eying the port. Fukkin Mancs... they've just opened with "the most famous owners in the world" or something like that... Sky hate us
  10. I realised a few years ago that I would never have a top model super car so decided to enjoy driving by learning to get the best out of what I could afford. It has been great journey, DSA, RoSPA etc. and has helped me understand about why people do what they do and protecting me from their actions. However that does not save the poor hapless pedestrian, so sad
  11. So how many on this board have received any advanced training since passing their driving tests?
  12. If you are the best driver in the world you would not be at 80 mph on a road where someone could step out in front of you, good driving is about observation and anticipation skills not showing off your over and under steer, that is for track days
  13. Just had my Friday night treat... scallops with chirizo & garlic with pasta and fried bread with a couple of pints of Gluiness. Mrs Dimron has brought a NowTV pass so time to hit the top shelf and go for it
  14. I was living in a student house in Chapeltown at the time and was interviewed a couple of times... a load of Bolton nutters were stopping over the night Jayne MacDonald was murdered just around the corner and we all had to go to Bolton Police Station and give an account of ourselves for that night... what were you doing on Saturday night with a couple of gallons of Tetleys swilling around inside? Try to remember the precise details one month later! Good riddance to the bastard is all I've got to say
  15. So how about this one... I can weigh myself before and after a crap and there is no difference, so is my crap weightless although it plops into the pan?
  16. So if the weight of the budgies is being transferred downwards by their wing flapping why doesn't the Sea King crush the helpless climber it is about to winch off Snowdon?
  17. I had my right ankle fused over 5 years ago, I still climb ladders etc etc but have to walk like a crab if I walk up a pitched roof, live with it
  18. Waddle should some to some of our training sessions and show us what we are up against when faced with a player who can read the game
  19. I want to believe, help me
  20. I learned about driving with a 3 litre capri with bald tyres in the wet
  21. That long field punt for Diouf to head in v Plovdiv was as accurate as you can get, and that's what he did consistently Unforgettable
  22. Had really bad shoulder pains to the extent I couldn't change gear when driving and felt like shit. Then a big full body massage (yes from a blonde lass), it knocked me out for a couple of days and after I was unstoppable... awake at dawn, full of man hormones and launching myself into all physical work with no shoulder pains at all. Try it before pills and all that, no guarantees but it won't harm and you might get a blonde masseur
  23. Problem is not about laws but enforcement. If I got pulled over by a traffic cop I would shake his hand (covid permitting)
  24. They kicked him out before the morning shift which must be good
