  1. Did we all get behind Brexit? Nah. It’s been a while since we’ve had a Labour Government. People either forget or are too young to remember but honeymoon periods are very short in politics. (They haven’t been elected yet. Rhino skins needed for those of a fragile political persuasion 😊) Even with their huge lead in the polls, they are still only polling around 44% of the voting population. Don’t expect an easy ride.
  2. Story of my life. St Joseph’s- gone St. George’s- gone Metal Box- gone Bolton Technical College - gone BIT- chopped in half Hick Hargreaves - gone Bolton Business Centre - gone My old shop is going strong as a great cafe though.😊
  3. I went to St. George’s for 5 years. We never did anything to celebrate. (Got married at St. Edmunds so covered all bases) If people want to celebrate, let them. Like the La La Land thread, whatever floats your boat. Seems to trigger some though.
  4. And Palestine. (Christian part)
  5. She’s growing on me. Unless she meant tax evasion. Who knows.🤷‍♂️
  6. The official term, on this site, is ignore. It’s passive.
  7. Yep. Some of the major city suburbs are further from the coast than say Bolton. In Aussie terms, anyone in the UK is near the beach.
  8. Yep. Bondi is overrated but the most famous. The ferry ride to Manly when it’s rough is interesting.😊
  9. It’s an ideal place to live. Close enough to the city but also the beaches. My lad did the Coogee Island swim this morning again. 2.5km. If you get the chance to go, do the Coogee to Bondi coastal walk. 👍
  10. I can only really talk about Sydney but it’s a combination of smaller districts, like small towns with everything within walking distance. Bondi Junction being an example. We stay in Randwick when we go. No car needed as public transport is good. Trouble is, it’s expensive to buy. I have stayed with friends in the suburbs though which is cheaper to buy/rent and that wouldn’t suit me. For the reasons given above.
  11. Do it. If you have any doubts because of parents, relatives etc. I’ll be happy to give advice. Hated it when mine said he was going but it’s been great for him and we are lucky enough to visit for long periods of time. 👍

Shoulda won that. 6.15 train back was eventful. Plod let everyone on even though it was obvious it was full. Northern Rail said they wouldn’t move unless people got off. No one moved. After 20 min. about 3 got off and plod told the train to move. GMP have become a joke.
  13. Been in there many times. A friend of my lad actually saw the policewoman killing the knife man.

    Ever heard of Paul McGrath?
  15. Lancs. Getting their monies worth out of ‘Garry’ today. 😊
  16. Not sure what’s going on but….
  17. 😊 Same here. The thing is, people call me Bobby. It’s actually pronounced Bowby. I’ve been called worse though. 👍
  18. Don’t think I ever said ‘brilliant’ Like all humour, some like it some don’t🤷‍♂️ Thanks for replying though. 👍
  19. Last time I saw you, you said you wished you’d picked a different name as people off here would shout your forum name as they didn’t know any different. My sons got a new dog and called it Shark. That’s ok but when he takes it for a walk on the beaches of Sydney, shouting Shark, Shark! It doesn’t go down well!
