Twitter is convinced we've made 2 signings (i've head a million names all of which im sure are wrong) It better not be Paul Mullin lol and they claim Cissoko is on his way back to France. Not sure, but SS said we'd know this week in the post match.

Why has our no9 saved 2 balls of the line today... why is he back so far?

I didnt catch that but just in general too tbh.

At this rate id be tempted to see what we can do playing 4231 with Tutu and Conway on the wings. Smashing balls into Dalby.

Just goes to show that formation and system arent the same, theyre currently playing some kind of 4231, and it looks nothing like ours ever did.

This is the difference between skill and effectiveness. It's amazing skill to do that, but because you only try to do that, it becomes expected. It isnt really a question of skill, even prime Messi couldnt do that if thats all he tried.

Id bring on Gale for ACD, McAtee for Burstow and Dempsey for Simons.

Stevenage (A)
I'm convinced his early stuff only worked because nobody was expecting him to cut in and score a screamer from 30 yards. Now teams know its coming, very easy to defend against because he does basically nothing but try to score the same goals he did earlier in the season.

For me hes a second half sub impact player against tired legs. He's perfect for that, not sure he fits in this 343/523, sometimes feels like were a player down.

Fair play to him, dont think he was quite at the level we needed or as bad as some let on but i think we've upgraded.

They're almost a certainty to go down, so getting a reliable upper end league 1 centre mid in for cheap getting him mixed into their system ready for next year makes a lot of sense.

Need to be beating these convincingly they're terrible atm and are sinking fast. Think it should be the same starting 11 but with it being Tuesday, we might see some rotation. Maybe McAtee or Forss starting for Burstow and Erhahon or Dempsey for Simons and or Sheehan. Question for me is do we stick with 523/ 343 or go with 4231, for me the way we played yesterday was more than a formation change, we also got the ball down the channels and into the wing more effectively, all our best opportunities come from it and our goal come from the clearance of a cross. Has he seen the light regarding crosses coming from peoples natual foot. IDK but if he has we could see its return, but maybe not away maybe at home against Leyton Orient.

Wigan Athletic (A)
I'm delighted we won, and we 100% needed it but lets not forget it's 18th place Wigan and we only scored though a deflection (in fairness it might of gone in otherwise). We need a way of winning games consistently, week in week out for a long time especially against the lower half of the league. I'm not convinced i saw that today.

Tactically feels like a last throw of the dice, make or break time.

Bro...you were a happy clapper and wanted to give Evatt another year, hell you'd have probably given him a decade. Your opinion to me is a joke and everyone on here thinks you're a nit picking, hair splitting dick head. Enjoy

I can only suggest you watch some of the youth team matches and ask Julian Darby. It's clear watching them he's a step above, he made Cat1 Leicester City look non league. He's our youngest goal scorer in 44 years and he's scoring for fun right now. He's got quick feet like Conway and he knows where the back of the net is, something everyone here has been crying about for 3 weeks.

Nobody said he's the next Wayne Rooney, dont be a knob all your life.

In 2002 an injury to Duncan Ferguson allowed a 16 year old Wayne Rooney to start against Tottenham Hotspur, he to most people he at the time was just a fairly promising youngster. They wanted to play him at 15 but couldnt because of the FA. He never went to play on loan in League 1 or the Championship, boom right in and scoring. Ritchie is currently our most exciting young prospect, he's 18 soon to be 19, and he's a no10, I proposed he play in a dual no10 formation, the same one SS used to get Plymouth promoted. To top it off, he's in good goal scoring form right now. Not forgetting he's already played and scored for us against a league 2 team in the cup. You dont rate him to start because he's not coming from a Championship or PL team, if he was you'd be hailing him as the second coming. Nasty bias some fans have against our own B and Youth team players.

Time for a new manager?
There's nothing to it mate. It was bollocks when Evatt said it and it's laughable now. The team struggled with under Evatt because in order to better meet his tactics, he removed versatility in the squad, things like flair, pace and strength, were seen as a hindrance. This weakness in physicality was identified by more and more teams, this created gaps between the attack, midfield and defence. The wing backs the core to making that system work were pinned back. To try and add some physicality to the middle, the 3 centre backs were moved a tiny bit further forward and that's when mistakes and injuries really started to flair up. This team isn't struggling for that same reason and it is fundamentally versatile, the problem is all our attacks start off with the ball being passed to Gale or ACD, if you look back earlier in the season see how much space both of them are allowed (the highlights are there on youtube). While this was wasteful with them ignoring a simple pass for cutting inside to try to shoot from 30 yards 9/10 times a game, we were still getting goals, inconsistantly, but often enough to look like we were doing well. That has now totally changed, teams have figured out that if they just have one or two men mark ACD especially at basically all times, they've almost entirely neutered our attack. The issue here is that in a normal team, we would play more through the middle, ACD and Gale would try and do more overlaps, underlaps, and try to get to the byline. That isnt happening and that is tactical, that is the responsibility of SS not the players.
