Just seen on Twitter, good luck to him, not really done much wrong, he's a decent League 1 wing back, never more but not less.

I agree, the tactics are THE issue, but he's had ample games to fix it and he hasnt, he just keeps tinkering with the formation and player selection. Leads me to think, he doesn't think the tactics are the issue because "we played really well for the first 4.5 months of the season" and the xG is good.

The inverted part isn't the problem. The problem is that we dont over or under lap, we dont play anything though the middle, we never get to the byline. We are totally 1 dimentional and easy to defend against. Doing any of that would then free up Gale and ACD to be able to cut inside to cross and shoot, but because we dont attacks get stuffed out. Real chances become half chances under pressure.

SS's tactics on the wing are at the very core as to why we're struggling right now. That's not ACD's fault, but what he and the rest of the team are being instructed to do regarding plays and attacks that go to/ thorugh him isn't working.

Because he changed the formation but not the tactics, hell i think he was playing ACD as a wing back, still cutting in to shoot with 2/3 players around him.

It was going well before we tried to buy expensive aka Randall.

Because we're in the business of buying cheap and selling expensive. A proven player costs too much to do that.

This is the way, maybe Forss over McAtee or Richie. You then use ACD in the final 20 mins against tired legs.

Sheehan and ACD in the middle is mental, way too weak, this is the reason Evatts midfields got overrun in the end. You need both Erhahon and Simons there, then you can afford to have a weaker player alongside them.

lol that team would get over run in the middle and battered is that ACD as a central midfielder. What have you been smoking do i need to call GMP.

One of the youth team lads, a no10, good on the ball, and can shoot. He's 19 this year, has already played and scored in the first team match against Oldham in the cup.

You know that's the formation SS used most of the time to get Plymouth promoted right? Plus everyone is in their natual positons. I put Richie in there because he's different than our other no10's...he can shoot.

It's a backup goalkeeper guys in the PL days we had 41/42 year old Kevin Poole there. He played 5 games in 4 years.

Yeah down to 10 men and the ref has had an absolute howler. Team is a strange one, there are a few lads that look like theyre ready to step up and a few that look miles and miles behind. Guess you'll always get that in a youth team.

This is what happens when your attack is reliant on 1 tactic (cutting inside to shoot) it didnt take long for managers to find out that if you stick 2 men on ACD he cant do it. For whatever reason like Evatt, SS refuses to drop it, so regardless of formation or even who's playing the same thing still happens.

1-1 Ritchie Scores.

This Richie lad looks a class above surely can't be far from the first team, a no 10 too.

I think the pure shock of that would have had us 2/3 up by half time.

Time for a new manager?
They can't buy a victory atm.

I've heard that it was TSL who requested Chelsea recall him. Bonham seems a decent keeper for this level so i ain't bothered. Twitter is going mental though, I think half of them think we should be signing David Raya.

Reminds me of this

Did well for Rochdale im lead to believe, but SS doesn't seem to rate him, strange he was signed with that being the case.

All I'm saying is that these features like Dalby as a target man or Fross as a poacher etc are all things you want in a team that's built for versatility, the issue is were not versatile in attack. Every attack is...ball gets passed to winger, winger stops with ball, runs with ball then cuts inside to shoot. If there was some variety with overlaps, underlaps, with getting to the byline, hitting it first time, or playing down the middle. Then those features would present themselves and not be hidden. It would also make marking our wingers much much harder, which then means they stand a bigger chance of scoring those cuts inside. It all feeds into eachother.

Anyone remember how many goals Sammy Ameobi, Will Buckley, Liam Feeney or Filipe Morais got on the wing in league 1. It wasn't many, the fact we're expecting our wingers to seeminly be our main goal scoring threat is insane.
