Randall looked good when he come on, he just needs Erhahon and Simons with/behind him, Sheehan just gets bullied out, im convinced 13 year old nephew could bully him off the ball.

Sheehan , Randall and McAtee can't be allowed to play together on the same pitch, you could add the hulk to that mix and you'd still be too light weight. I really can't see what Sheehan offers the team.

Not really, the individual players have never really been the problem, it was them as a group that was, Evatt recruited against physical attributes so we had no strength or pace, in favour of technical ones as he wanted to built a team to pass other teams to death. The problem was once teams identified our growing weakness (got weaker each season), in those physical area's, we imploded. We still need a few players with good technical skills like Sheehan and Morley, they were never the problem to begin with what we lacked someone to play along side them that was going to protect, enable and enhance their offering.

Having both this year is going to be a boon. Flexability across the squad. You go from Randall playing in our wingers so they can cut in and get shots off. To McAtee coming on and now those wingers are pinging high balls into the middle for Dalby with McAtee running in for the knockdowns. Most League 1 teams just arent set up to deal with that sort of change part way through a match, especially when you're replacing quality with a different type of quality. People forget that in about 1/2 the teams in League 1 Lolos would walk right into them, maybe not into the first 11, but the bench easily. Quality outside our first 11 is going to be massive this year.

Think McAtee is more of a second/shadow striker type no 10 and Randall is more of a play it through/ final ball type no 10. That's just my observations.

I'm fairly sure I'm the one that started that Cosgrove "rumour" on Twitter a day or 2 ago. I said to Marc Iles in reply to his comment on the likeliness of signing Will Keane: "Think it's come about from someone on twitter spouting off. I could say we're after Sam Cosgrove and we're going to sign him by friday, it might be nonsense but if enough of the sheep believe it, it'll evenutally end up on your desk." A day later its all over twitter... Could be coincidence but mental if that's where its come from.

Wonder if Conway could play as a box to box CM, those driving runs are a rare quality at this level. Could be something to think about if we get an out and out left back.

On top of this, the statement about the 2 signings were made before we got a bid of £1.2 million in for Tommo, and maybe £300k for Forrester (unlikely but not impossible). That could change things as i dont think the club were expecting it. It's a decent amount of transfer money, future wages, and room in the squad.

No it's not. Evatt built a team to play 1 way, that way was found out tactically in Dec 24, we somehow managed to get 3rd ill never understand how. As a result of failing to get promoted and in response to be being found out, he did his whole Plan A 2.0 thing. In which he doubled down on that original style. To do this he removed strong types from the team to make way for players with better technical skills to make his style work better, this come with a new formation. The impact of this is that the things that caused us trouble from Dec 24 onwards, caused us EVEN MORE trouble. He never fixed it, and he tried to double down a 3rd time with his signing of Randall. The reality is not even the best football manager in the WORLD could have fixed that mess because the team was BROKEN as a unit.

The points were an illusion, yes we were 6th on paper but we had no right being there, we were shocking and had been for atleast 12 months prior.

Yeah saw it on twitter, i cant say im bothered, that agent of his is trouble.

The fact he was playing as low down as he was is a shocker, someone at Ipswich Town made a mistake at 14.

Schon has played well, final ball has let him down a bit but i can forgive that as he's playing on the right as a left footer.

Inwood and Randall both stand outs for me, Schön would be too but the final ball has been poor. Sheehan and Morley can't play together.

This whole thing of needing 3 first team goalkeepers has always seemed weird and new to me. We never had 3 goalkeepers during big Sams era in the Prem, it was Jussi and 40 year old Kevin Poole, who had been injured for over a year when we signed him. It was similar with Al-Habsi and Ian Walker too.
