well said that man

i will be happy if diouf is are only signing this guy is top top class and will play for a big club again.

You shouldn't just look at Gartside for savings on wages. I heard recently that a member of the 'staff' bought a 2nd house for nearly ??0.5M cash not long ago.

You must ask why is it that some 'other' clubs can afford to buy new players, yet same old story we can never afford to splash the cash on transfers. It does appear though that there is money available to pay high and perhaps, inflated, wages to playes either over the hill or on the downward spiral of their careers. Is it that our beloved club just pay high wages to everyone, then nothing is left in the coffers?

I honestly think the club are living day by day, looking at creaming off from attendances, the hotel, hospitality, merchandising, TV rights.

By member of staff do you mean a player, or someone who works in the ticket office?

Neither player or ticket office employee. Obviously I ain't gonna name the person for legal reasons.

so what if they did

got nothing to do with our transfer policy

The point is there will neve be any money in the club while people are bleeding it dry high and inflated wages.

These directors that can afford ??1/2million houses have made their money with their own businesses away from football not by sponging from BWFC.

Depends how old they are then. If they've got a decent accountant and have invested money sensibly or previously bought property at the right time, spending that sort of money on a house without having to get a mortgage is actually not unreasonable.

If I got married to someone who had made similar previous property investments to me then we'd be able to do the same. And if even only one of you had the added bonus of being an only child and your mortgage-free parents die, then you'd be quids in.

Sorry if this sounds cynical regarding inheriting money but it's a fact. And I don't think you can say that BWFC offer decent wages across the board as didn't you point out an IT job recently that was offering peanuts? I certainly saw one in my line of work about a year ago that I wouldn't have taken the drop in income for (including the 2 free tickets for home games), I doubt they would have had much interest from anyone as qualified as they wanted at the money they were offering.

Erm this person isn't a director, let's just say 'back room staff'.

he might have a wealthy spouse

Or have been a player for 15+ years earning a decent crust.

Why would lofty the lion want a big house?

Is his cage not good enough?
