Wanderlust Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 (edited) If we were in Portsmouth's position we'd have done exactly the same type of "game management". We played with pace and passion yesterday but it just wasn't our day, not just missing the chances we did get but the number of times it just didn't drop for us. That happens if games - sometimes it's not your day - which is exactly why we should have made it our day earlier in the season when we played worse teams than Pompey. I won't complain about the ref - he made some bad decisions for both teams and wound me up by not letting us take FKs quickly - but overall he let a lot go including Santos v Bishop and Yengi which was massively entertaining. Rico usually gets pulled up for that sort of behaviour. Although I did think it was a pen at the death. Edited April 15, 2024 by Wanderlust Quote
Wanderlust Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 A lot of talk about not winning against the "top teams". If we get promoted, won't every team be a "top team" in the scheme of things? Quote

Aye, we won't be the self proclaimed best team in the league anymore The aim will be survival So it'll be all about how we perform against the bottom teams, the ones we hope to finish above That's what it's really only ever been about Quote

Then we’ll see how much game management we know once we’ve got the points. Quote
