January 24, 200521 yr The enemy want's me to go further into debt to stick a conservatory on the house. Anyone got any reccomendations or bad experiences with local companies?
January 24, 200521 yr Had a lot of quotes and discussions. Ended up with Mark Forrest. Did a good job - I was able to haggle on price - seeing as MF reckoned they would match or beat any quote. They struggled to get to the lowest I had, but got quite close - I ended up paying part cash. Also, take a look at www.holmebrookconservatories.co.uk - I know the guy there. Might be worthwhile having a word with him.
January 24, 200521 yr I used Harrisons, nowt wrong with the quality but they tried to rip us off during the middle of the job. [-X
January 24, 200521 yr conservatories are gash IMO, too cold in winter, too hot in summer and end up being totally useless. Build a single floor extension instead, a lot more feckin about i know, but at least that would be usable...

I got front door (top of range ish) a couple of months ago for ??400 + ??100 fitting, you'd be looking at ??1000+ from a "good company". Just down my mum & dad fron door + french doors and panel (big fcuk off ones), cost em ??920 + the cost of fitting ??200. They'd had a quote of ??2450. anybody who has upvc cladding doing are being well ripped off. the cladding only cost ??19 for 5M form windowplas, people are paying ??1000+ to have it fitted. Big big money in this area
