Guess the players

Found an old team sheet from a Pontins League Division 1 from December 1998 away at Burnley . A Very strong Wanderers 11 + 6 subs . Can you guess the line up .

Dont expect anyone to know the Burnley team , I'd only ever heard of one of them .

  • I know he trained in Bolton for the 66 world cup. The "had heard" was a reference to a BEN headline / article when we were supposedly after him as manager 😁

  • I played in net against that City team in a trial match at Platt Lane. Still have the extra arseholes they tore me

I might be remembering wrong but wasn't David Moyes there around that time?

How do you check historic line ups? I know there is a website 11v11, but can’t load the game I’m after…

37 years ago today, my first ever game- beat Northampton 2-1. I know Felgate in net

There are a couple of complete record books on E- Bay by club historian Simon Marland . One book goes up to the 1988/89 wembley season and the other one goes up to just before relegation from the premier league . You can pick either up quite cheaply.

I'd say Banks. My first real recollection of Jussi was him fecking up in Allardyce's first game. A midweek match v Crewe funnily enough.

I think your right to be honest , I just had it in my head he played at Sunderland that season . I must confess Banks  never filled me with confidence,  iirc he was quite short.

He dived out of the way of an Allan Johnston pot shot from about 30 yards that day
