Probably also a stronger than usual line up (for both sides) as the cup match normally comes between 2 league games and means a load of changes and resting of anyone likely to start both league games (Inwood, Warren and Lawrence started last year). The last game before the season starts is often treated as a full dress rehearsal, probably a full strength team.

Yeah, when I saw the scheduling and considering it's probably well down our list of priorities this season I thought it could well serve as a kind of final pre-season friendly.

Starting to get the buzz about fixture release day already. One of the highlights of the year

Seeing as you’ve got a 100% season to your name, I can see why it would likely excite you more than it would me, but I have hardly given it a look for the past 3 or so years. There were only 3 or 4 games a season worth caring about so it never really felt like a big thing to me.

This season however, I can’t wait to see the fixtures! It just feels so much different.

You're more forgiving than I am.
That said, you'd not be of that opinion if you still lived in Bolton.

Home game first please

True, in fact I might even pull my finger out and get over 5 home games in next season
