Bolton's bin-men

Featured Replies

Our bins in Trafford are already collected by a private enterprise. A French company called Onyx and the service is absolute shite.

My bin is supposed to be emptied on a Friday, but recently Xmas Eve fell on the Friday, so Onyx decided they weren't working Xmas Eve and New Years Eve ie 2 Fridays. So, on 17th December, they emptied my bin and stuck a sticker on it explain ing the next collection would be on January 7th, but due to Xmas they would also accept one extra binbag of rubbish.

If Bolton go down the path of tendering the refuse service out, it'll get a lot worse than it already is.

i have another simple solution.

all the workshy folk, bone idle smackrats, for example and those who have been unemployed for more than a year without having a good reason for it (not finding the right thing for me does not count) have to run round behind the bin waggin collecting the excess sh??te generated by only having a fortnightly collection otherwise they dont get their dole.

they can also clean up graffiti and chewing gum, pick up litter etc.

come to think of it I seem to remember tony bliar say much the same in his election campaing before he became PM.

Don't suppose they started it while I was away did they?

No. If anything our government (and local council) probably give them free needles to shoot up with.

To cut a long story short, Bolton MBC comes about 370th out of 390 councils nationally for recycling. i.e facking shite.

Bolton Council spent a few hundred thousand on side loading recycle wagons. The staff sorted the glass from the cans and plastic. Problem was, they had three steps to walk up to do all the sorting so they fukced the vehicles off. Our recycled stuff goes into a normal bin wagon now.

Oh, and I heard we pay Blackburn with Darwen Council to take OUR recycled material and sort it for us. Without looking at the full list I would take a guess that B with D Council are pretty high up on the list.

I live in bury we have a normal wheelie bin, a brown wheelie bin for garden waste, boxes for bottles/jars/cans and bags for clothes and newspapers!

I felt that I wasn't getting enough for my council tax so rather than burning the house down to get the fire brigade out, .

Great idea! Burn your house down so you have a feeling of getting your money's worth.

I'll mention it at our Community Fire safety offices. You may have stumbled on something big.

Anyone want to buy a candle?
