Right, I've got a 7" vinyl record that I want to play in the car, unfortunately I haven't got a record player in the car so I want to trim it down with a makita jigsaw, till its 5" in diameter, it should then fit into the cd player...
Alternatively, I may favour the Poolewood with variable speed inverter drive. If I use the bowl turning attachment I can rotate the headstock through 180 degrees and gaining additional clearance from the lathe bed I can turn also lp's into cd's too.
The final touch of course, is the colour. They wont work unless you spray them silver and for that I have been recommended Halfords Chrome Wheel Spray which produces exactly the right sheen for a CD if applied correctly. Since I can't sand the disc down first as it will damage the grroves, I will require a good self etching primer.
My problem is I know f??ck all about etching primers. Can anybody help?
