December 28, 200520 yr Does anybody know whether or not the game is off tonight! Heard from a source it was! not Official though! Under soil heating has packed in!
December 28, 200520 yr Author Its on the Wanderers web site now! Absolute joke, that a premiership team can't get a pitch ready. They should have covered the pitch! they knew the weather was going to be bad!
December 28, 200520 yr They should have covered the pitch! they knew the weather was going to be bad! Bollox. They should have made sure the undersoil heating was properly maintained. I blame the ticket office.
December 28, 200520 yr Undersoil heating failed apparently. Left egg on Big sams face for resting players for the Sunderland game, wouldn't 3 points have been handy. Ah well fcuk it,feet up and a few cans with the c/heating on full!
December 28, 200520 yr Don't tell me they only just turned the under soil heating on today?? It's just like a car, you need to keep them turned over/on in winter due to frost etc. Tossers.
December 28, 200520 yr I think Mr Allardyce may have had an hand in it! We now rest while the munichs and Scousepool have to play. Remember Crewe away a few years back game over easter was called off for water logged pitch(pitch playable but was abit of standing water so ref left it to the managers), then spurs away in the cup samw thing!!! Now we find the under soil heating doesnt work, bet Big Sam has the fuses at home!!
December 28, 200520 yr http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~760644,00.html Was looking forward to tonights match.
December 28, 200520 yr From the BEN: From the Bolton Evening News, first published Wednesday 1st Jan 1997. BURNDEN Park's undersoil heating, the saviour of many a game over the years, helped Wanderers beat the freeze again today. The New Year's Day sporting programme was decimated by the winter blast but the Division One fixture against Bradford City was given the go-ahead this morning. The Burnden pitch was declared fit while groundstaff and volunteers cleared snow from the terraces and the turnstile approaches. Why didn't we bring the old undersoil system with us when we moved?
December 28, 200520 yr is dioufy suspended for munich then? he was supposed to be tonight, if so, that's one bad thing come out of tonight

Now we find the under soil heating doesnt work, bet Big Sam has the fuses at home!! Whilst I love a conspiracy theory, I think you're wrong. If the club has done this on purpose, Sam would have put a full strength team out at Sunderland. Points on the board are always better than games in hand. However, I wouldn't mind a deep frost affecting the pitch during the ANC.
December 28, 200520 yr Cue a Sam Allardyce moaning session - "We've got too many games", etc. Will definately be out of UEFA will fcuk all to play for come March but at least our players will be fit enough for the ANC [-(
December 28, 200520 yr is dioufy suspended for munich then? he was supposed to be tonight, if so, that's one bad thing come out of tonight Diouf wouldn't have played at Old Trafford anyway. He would be considered as too risky temperament -wise and would have been saved for Liverpool, against who he will really want to play well.
December 28, 200520 yr Just spoke to someone who works at the club and apparently the undersoil heating was turned on and worked apart from the section under the middle of the pitch which failed and left it unfit.
December 28, 200520 yr What failed? Someone valved it off? That bit's served by a different pumpset which failed? Come on - we want details!
December 28, 200520 yr Whoever selected that system should be sacked, the manufacturer should be sued. ragging amateurs
