The cheeky BWFC Bastards!!!

Featured Replies

Most League 1 and 2 (div 3 and 4) players will not earn vast amounts - it's mainly those involved with the top 2 leagues these days.

In the last 10 years or so, wages in the bottom 2 leagues have decreased - this is what is bringing in more competitive standards with the conference etc, but wages in the Prem have gone up - that's where your problem lies...

But their teams, in the old Divs 3 & 4 aren't complaining about the small gates for an FA cup tie against Arsenal! They are getting full houses when they play top teams.

In the days when we were a lower league side we didn't have half full terraces at Burnden. We had televised matches against top division sides and still filled the place so the excuse about television doesn't work.

In those long-gone days it was a rarity to see the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Villa, Spurs, etc. at our ground. Nowadays we see them every other week. As has been said, these teams are now no better than us and in many cases a damned site lower in league terms than we are (Oldham for example). The excitement of meeting these teams isn't there when they're only on a level footing with us.

The league is often said to be the club's priority so why should that be any different for the fans? We never have less than 24-25,000 for a league game. That's all the S/T holders plus some casual supporters.

The extra cup games do come at a price. A pretty expensive price at that! When you're earning mega-money you cut the cloth to suit your income. When you're not on mega-money you do likewise.

I was at the Arsenal game and was disappointed with the attendance but for the fans who can't afford it to be slagged off is well ragging out of order. I bet that fat red ginger Gartside got more for his shite acting role in Sky One's Dream Team than I earn in a year. I ragging hate that smug bastard.

When you're not on mega-money you do likewise.

which is exactly what bwfc do

not a policy i have a problem with (i know some do, but i've never gone along with that)

i don't however expect them to apply double standards when its the other way around

I am not prepared to pay ??35 for myself and my daughter to go to the Arsenal game when it will only cost me ??20 for us both for the Marseille game. ](*,)

I make a 60 mile round trip to every home game and have been a season ticket holder for 14 years. :D

BWFC and Gartside can tell me how to part with my money when they part with there's in bringing quality players to the club instead of living off scraps. [-X

=D> indeed. I wonder what Sam and Stelios "earned" for their stint on Question of Sport that time. Sam grinning like a loon but about as funny as piles and Stelios looking like a rabbit blinded by oncoming headlamps...

Don't think you can blame Stelios and Sam. Some jumped up marketing arsehole is pretty much putting words into their mouths. Scandalous.

After expenses both clubs receive a third of the gate with the balance going to the FA. Consequently pricing has to be agreed between the two teams, it was not just Bolton's call.

I have seen in the media that Arsenal would not agree to pricing any lower than the ??20/25 and have no reason to disbelieve this.

For me at least the club's in the clear on this one.

I was shocked at the attendance against Arsenal, I under-estimated by about 5,000. If this match would have been at Burnden I'm sure that there would have been 18,000+ because the tie would have been even more exciting than it already was.

Or am I still way off the mark and out of touch with public opinion. I was really looking forward to seeing an FA Cup match against Arsenal.

The reducing of players wages in the premiership is a non-starter, we would just lose our most talented to Spain, Germany, Italy etc. The seedy side of football ( bungs, agents etc. would see to that)

Not buying anybody in the transfer market will lower the Wigan gate on Saturday.

??31 in the cheap seats to watch a midfield without JJ,Faye,Speed,Campo and even Fadiga. If Nolan gets injured tonight our midfield will be pisspoor on Saturday unless he can get O'Brien or even Hunt to do a job there.

I wouldnt pay ??31 to watch the Wigan game if i hadnt got a season ticket.

Which is fair enough if the club came out and blamed the FA or Arsenal for not allowing us to lower the prices and not the fans for not turning out.

I saved a massive 47p watching the FACup tie (a competition up until yesterday has not been a priorty for the club in over 5 years) to watch Arsenal's reserves, compared to watching the same fixture but in the premier league which kicked off at a sensible time and was not shown on TV.

So a message to those stay away fans........" "

Thats what the club should have said.

BWFC's PR man is Gerald Ratner.

What is the email structure at BWFC? Tried to send an email regarding the Marseille tickets and low attendance against Arsenal to 'daniel.reuben@bwfc.co.uk' (publicity man) but it was not delivered due to "The message was undeliverable because the recipient specified in the recipient postal address was not known at this address".

The email to 'publicity@bwfc.co.uk' got through. Just wonder if BWFC have made it impossible for us supporters and customers to get an email to a name rather than a faceless department!

Received a circular email yesterday, scrolled down and the email address of the "PA to 1st Team Management" was there.

Looks like the generic address is initial letter christian name and then surname so Danny Reuben's email is probably

dreuben@bwfc.co.uk

Cheers

Email on the way to him!

There's a lot of assumptions going on regarding pricing, BWFC wanted lower prices but Arsenal denied them the opportunity, if so, what's stopping BWFC releasing a statement and saying just that. At least we could lay the blame with Arsenal rather than BWFC getting all the stick. :-k

The simple answer is because our communication channels are shot to shit.

I really need to stop getting wound up about this :-#
