we have a 15/16 year old lad that is working part time after school for his father and thinking about opening a current account. Id say that this is a grown up and sensible attitude.

Look around at most other people of that age.

i know id prefer olis attitude to a little scrote chav wannabes, who'll probably never work and start claiming benefits as soon as they leave school.

Oli, well done lad ( make sure you put enough away for football eh lad??)

P.s- go to a few banks telling them how much per month you want to put in and see what perks they offer you. Play em off against each other a little, theyre gonna lend your money to other people and charge them lots of interest whilst paying you diddly squat for it, so make em work for it eh..

i have applied for abbey as is offers internet banking which is what i need instead of travelling to the bank .

thats correct, the fivers come straight out of your printer on internet banking

Actually, am I right in thinking that ATM's used to dispense fivers, but now the lowest denomination is a tenner? I'm sure I remember drawing out ??35 every week when I had been paid (I was only on ??40 a week when I left school.............??10 to my mum, and then ??25 pound to go out on Friday night and then to the match on Saturday - how the hell did I do that in 1989?)

It's all a myth about online banking.

So your computer can read it properly as well, you should write you PIN on the front of the card in permanent black marker in 15mm high characters.

So why, earlier in the thread, did you extoll the virtues of Abbey's internet banking service?

because my dad said intwernet banking was good as he can transfer money from his account to mine

Sounds like a great dad to have. Look after him. :D

Oh, don't forget to mention that a few thousand pounds in your account now will save you from having to pay inheritence tax when you get it eventually in his will.

Yes and also you can view statements, balances, pay bills, set up/cancel direct debits, standing order, transfer monies between other accounts and much more all from the comfort of your bean bag!

I tried scanning/printing a tenner on my HP job (just to test it out as it were new 8-[ :D ) and half way through the printing it stopped and told me this was illegal. fucker could detect that it were a note. clever bastard.

All ??35 notes are yellow.

It's the ??23 notes that are green.

Oh good, can I buy another 6 x ??35 notes and 10 x ??23 notes from you later this evening. I presume you are still doing the ??35 notes for a tenner each, and the ??23 notes for a fiver.

That'll be ??110 please, I'll take 2 ??55's off you.

That'll be ??110 please, I'll take 2 ??55's off you.

Can I pay you in Euros, I've still got those two ???78 notes you gave me in Marseille :D

I presume you are 15/16, if so, why do you not already have an account somewhere?
