Not a Bolton issue here but a general football one - what 3 changes would you make to the rules???
For me, in reverse order of importance:
3) reduce dramatically the ability of defenders to blatantly foul strikers while shielding the ball on it's way out for a goal kick. At the very least it's normally "obstruction" but sometimes it's absolutely ridiculous fouling.
2) allow the trainer on the pitch during play in certain circumstances - see other thread.
1) introduce sin-bins. Lad at work is a top-flight qualified RL ref - he's run the line at OT during Grand Finals before now - and has also reffed football extensively. Interestingly he lived in Germany for a while during a phase where lower league games trialed the sin-bin option and he reffed many of those games. He said it worked a treat and was popular at all levels. Why was it bounced? Well decision from the very top ie yer Blatters etc apparently.
So if someone who is used to applying it at the highest level in one sport reckons it's fine for another sport, then that gets my vote....
