xxxxxx Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 You are correct. I think 8 million pound is a bit too much, nevermind 10.
jayjayoghani Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 of the Johnson deal. Haven't you just Bextored yourself? http://www.wanderersways.com/forum/viewtop...pic.php?t=26678 last word from me on the Andy johnson transfer, lets move on
Zico Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Mounts - for one who has been vocal and critical of the board for not spending or being ambitious in the past, I'm surprised you find the territory so intimidating, as in you want nothing to do with it and want to go back to the bargain basement as soon as the going gets tough

LatinoHeat Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 we can get jason roberts for 3mill that will do me
exiledwhite2 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 we can get jason roberts for 3millthat will do me He doesn't offer us anything new in my opinion Johnson is a pacy goalscorer, which is what we need. However I do think ??7m should have been our upper limit.
Brains Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Read on Sky Sports today that Newcastle are interested in Darren Bent and they reckon a bid of ??6m would be enough. If thats the case, i would rather see us go in for Bent over Johnson.
Guest as Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 You name a better player, English centre forward, who wouldn't need time to 'settle', then maybe I'd agree with you. Or should we go and blow another ??4m on another EHD? PB
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 5 fella's int Tempest last night, loudest one says "??8 million for Johnson, garbbage, only scored 11 goals in the prem....we should go spend ??2 million on Jason Roberts, much better player, already settle din the NOrth West" 3 of them agreed with him!!!!! Then the other pointed out that the penalties he does score, are of his own making, and willingness to run at defenders, as his burst of pace, is what Clubs like Madrid and United are spending tens of millions trying to buy......so the 3 then agree'd with him!
Guest as Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Most football fans are ragging clueless, that's my answer to that one. We're a club with fans who still think Sam should leave remember. <shakes head in disbelief> PB

Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Whoever signs Johnson will be almost guarenteed 15-25 goals next season! Kevin Davies, Andy Johnson, Diouf, Vaz Te, that looks like tastey bunch James Beattie, Andy Johnson, McFadden, Anichebe, Vaughan!! Johnsons name in any team improves it ten fold!
jimmyjoojar Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Certainly does for Everton, who the fcuk are the last two??
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Certainly does for Everton, who the fcuk are the last two?? Im sure Evertonians have the same view on Vaz Ta!

I think ??8M is realisitic for a 25 year old player 1 year into a 5 year contract, whose goal scoring record over 3 years is very good and whom is in the England World Cup squad stand by list and I think that ??8M is more likely to be what he will go for as opposed to ??12m
jimmyjoojar Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 But the lad has made at least some impact on the prem?
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 he only scored 10 goals in open play rest were pens not worth 8m
Sweep Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 he only scored 10 goals in open play rest were pens not worth 8m Of the 11 penalties he won, he created most of them himself though with his direct play and turn of pace. If he's not worth ??8M, then how much do you think he is worth, and who would you put in the "worth ??8M" bracket?
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 But the lad has made at least some impact on the prem? Really....looks absolute w??nk to me! Vaughen 17 year old is the Prems youngest ever goalscorer. Injured all last season, so we dont know what he will be like. Looked very promising before his injury! Victor Anichebe 19 , scored in last home game against WBA, looks fast and strong, similar to the way Heskey was at Leicester!
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 he only scored 10 goals in open play rest were pens not worth 8m Pens are not goals are they not ??? He created them pens....and dont forget he scored 21 goals for a team that went down, witha cr??p midfield! Win a game 1-0 by a penalty......how do you feel ???

Pablo is talking sense here, the guy would improve the front lines of both Everton and Bolton massively
