After our pitiful end to last season and the subsequent lies about signing 6 players before the World Cup it is now the end of the road for Allardyce as far as I am concerned. His tv career is clearly his priority and if we make the mistake of giving him one more season we will be fighting Watford, Reading and Sheffield United to stay up.

I have been saying for weeks now that Glenn Hoddle is the man to take this club to glory and our first trophy in many, many years. But rather than just repeat his name over and over with out any substance I have spent the last few days having an in-depth look at the two managers. I was totally impartial, and have come up with the following findings and a score out of 10 for each category:

Playing Career

Hoddle: Played for Spurs for many years in the top division and Europe. Was also a regular England player, winning several caps. Gifted player who could turn any game. (9)

Allardyce: No nonsense centre-half with all the skill of an elephant on rollerblades. Never played for England and his only venture into Europe was to get liposuction on the cheap. (5)

Conclusion: Hoddle is the man. Played at the very top level most of his career with many years European experience. Perfect credentials to take us further up the league and into the CL.

Previous Clubs Managed

Hoddle: Swindon, Wolves, Southampton, Tottenham and England. Held the top job in British football, was destined to win the World Cup in 1998 until David Beckham stuck out a leg against Argentina. Later removed from post for ridiculous comments made about the disabled. (9)

Allardyce: Blackpool and Notts County. Sacked from Blackpool for crimes against football. (3)

Conclusion: Sacked by Blackpool? Enough said.

Trophies & Medals

Hoddle: While Hoddle has never guided his team to major Cup glory, he did win several FA Cup medals while playing for Spurs. (7)

Allardyce: Won Walrus lookalike competition at Clacton Butlins in 1976. (2)

Conclusion: Hoddle knows what it takes to win medals.

Tactics:

Hoddle: Widely regarded as one of the most astute managers in the game. Turned England into a major force, Hoddle would be spoken about in the same way as Sir Alf Ramsey but for Beckham???s sending off. Rightly claimed Michael Owen wasn???t a goalscorer. How many did he get for Real Madrid? How many has he got for Newcastle? (8)

Allardyce: Only has one tactic, the long ball to Kevin Davies. If Davies is injured or the opposition are big and tall he has no plan B other than to hoof it to Stelios instead. (1)

Conclusion: Allardyce thinks Henrik Pedersen is Premiership quality. No contest.

Transfer Market:

Hoddle: Signed a wealth of attacking players that had the White Hart Lane regulars purring with delight. (8)

Allardyce: Signed Mario Jardel, Ibrahaim Ba and David Holdsworth. (5)

Conclusion: Mario Jardel looked like a fat Sumo Wrestler. Again, no contest.

Media Relations:

Hoddle: Rarely seen on TV, preferring to spend his time coaching his players, searching for new talent and dealing with the day-to-day issues at Wolves. (10)

Allardyce: Is currently auditioning to replace Kate Thornton for the new series of X-Factor. (2)

Conclusion: They are both football managers. Only one takes it seriously.

Man Management:

Hoddle: Gives his players the freedom to express themselves but if any step out of line or have a poor performance he gives them an old fashioned rollicking. (9)

Allardyce: Blames Mike Riley for everything, even his 6 chins. His players are always 100% perfect. (3)

Conclusion: Allardyce needs to wake up.

Overall Concluson

Hoddle scores 60

Allardyce scores 21

The facts cannot lie. Hoddle is the man for us. He won every single category with ease. Face facts, if we want to progress Hoddle is the right man for the job.

Be brave Gartside and sack Allardyce today.

FFS! Why can't you just put short posts on! Read the first line, scrolled down and saw how long it was and fcuked it off! After reading the others comments I'm glad I didn't bother! Shite!!!! :D

Champions league would have meant, in the figurative sense, we'd have been running when we've only just learnt to walk. Blind ambition is pointless, I think Zozzy mentioned Leeds United in another thread. Wise words to be adhered to. Also, Everton had a bit of a nightmare too last season in their short time in the Champions league and would probably put some of their poor league performance down to it.

These threads have got to be wind up surely. And I can't believe I'm biting, it must be because it's not a busy day at the office today, other than that I've no excuse!

And they call me a WUM!

So you???re saying you didn???t want to qualify for the Champions League in case we did a Leeds? So why play league matches, just in case we do a Maidstone or an Aldershot?

I really have heard it all now.

With about 8 games to go we had CL football in our own hands. Allardyce fcuked it up and cost us a trip to somewhere more interesting than the second-rate teams we visited last season in the UEFA Cup.

regardless of any merits/ lack of them to this drivel, thisis the EXACT same post as natasha placed on the bbc message boards a couple months back.

to the letter

not only seeking attention, but doing so to a pre-defined routine.

2nd rate teams ??? I though 2nd rate teams were teams that were haveing their first EVER European Tour!!

Man management for Hoddle - 9.

NINE FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!! Are you on wobbly eggs?

He has managed to fcuk up the dressing room spirit of every club he has managed!

Why am I even replying to the wittering bint? #-o

and cost us a trip to somewhere more interesting than the second-rate teams we visited last season in the UEFA Cup.

You obviously didn't visit any of these places then? Trips that will be remembered for a very long time...

Well that's even sadder than I thought.

To save your "work" is bad enough. To post it on two different forums is laughable.

Before you have a pop, please read Glenn Hoddle???s official autobiography. Honestly, it is superb, the man is clearly ahead of his time. The man is a visionary. I realise he made some stupid remarks about the disabled for which he was rightly punished, but as a football manager he is about as good as it gets. As a poster has said earlier, at Wolves he simply doesn???t have the players capable of playing to his strengths.

You obviously didn't visit any of these places then? Trips that will be remembered for a very long time...

I went to all the European away days and enjoyed the experience very much. It didn???t change the fact we were playing second rate footballing teams. I???d have much rather been in Barcelona or Madrid or Milan even though I???ve been there a million times.

As a poster has said earlier, at Wolves he simply doesn???t have the players capable of playing to his strengths.

so he needs to change the players or the style

he hasn't done

proof enough he's a cock

I'd prefer Eileen Drewery.

Now get those f*cking norks out, wench. All flat-dicks have to show them at least once, no balls had hers hanging out at the Sportsmans Dinner FFS :-$

You gotta get that dirt off ya shoulder

A fair point if you???re the Chelsea manager with money burning a whole in your Armani trouser pocket. Not so easy when you haven???t got a penny to spend.

With the few million he???d get to spend at Bolton we???d have an attacking style of play, we???d keep the ball on the deck, and most importantly we might bloody win something!!

Hoddle had all that money at Wolves to spend, spent it and couldn't even get them into the play offs, why the hell would we want him?? A manager who is so far past his prime that it now looks like a dot to him and that Wolves fans must be angry that he is there manager next season!

Allardyce did a similar thing at Blackpool (Blackpool for chrissakes!!) yet you all want to be his bed partner.

Them teams are no more or less as much 2nd rate as Bolton are!

About 5 teams "had it in their own hands" with a certain amount of games left.

What do you think give you the right to demand Bolton Wanderers be in the CL, you have only had one fcuking season on Europe for god sake, in 125 years !!!!!

Learn to enjoy what you have.....Bolton in the top 8 of the top division every season is nothing short of a miracle.....!!

But the thing is what has Hoddle done in the Premiership, Spurs f**k all except spend 11.5million on shitty Rebrov and didn't las long, Pleat did a better job than him as a caretaker manager! And at Southampton nothing except decide that the club wasn't for him and join spurs. Alladyce well.... spent hardly 11.5million in the whole time he's been at Bolton and got us from relegation candidates to European challangers!!! That is why hoddle is so shit!

I'd prefer Eileen Drewery.

hanging out? well, you could have told me as it wasn't intentional!

You really are too literal. I would love to see us in the CL, wasn't I the one who went on last week about proud moments seeing great players come to little old Bolton? It's just a word of warning as we are not ready or have a big enough squad to play the likes of Barcelona. Usually something's got to give and it could be our PL status god forbid!

Them teams are no more or less as much 2nd rate as Bolton are!

Yeah, and I???m sure they were just as pissed to be playing Bolton as I was playing some team I???d never heard of.

With 8 games left it was in our own hands, if we???d won every game we would have finished in 4th. Arsenal or Spurs could not have finished above us. Then Allardyce fcuked it up against Man Utd by being a big tart and then at Boro by giving our best defender (N???Gotty) a rest even though he hadn???t played for 8 days. We let in 4.

As much as I enjoyed our UEFA cup away games, it really is a mickey mouse competition and I???m glad we???re not involved this year. If only for the fact Allardyce won???t be able to trot out his ???tired players??? excuse again.

We finished 6th the season before, 8th last season. See a trend? Very worrying.

What do you think give you the right to demand Bolton Wanderers be in the CL, you have only had one fcuking season on Europe for god sake, in 125 years !!!!!

Care to enlighten us on how we could have qualified for Europe between 1877-1960?

If there had been European competition we'd have qualified many times.

Very much doubt you went to any games in Europe.

You're still a bucket shaker in my eyes. :-$

Oh and errr.... Dean Richards, 8.5 million. Case closed.

Dean Richards would have been a regular England international but for his career ending injury. How could Hoddle know his signing would have to retire from the game?
