July 25, 200620 yr I was at Burnley. Don't know all of our Youth / Reserves so I could be wrong, but the only one I thought was a trialist was the lad who played at centre-half in the second half - looked like a young skinny Kanu; didn't look too comfortable really.

July 25, 200620 yr Teymourian couldn't have played at Burnley without a work permit: because it wasn't free to get in the ground for fans. Players without work permits can play, but only if its free admission.

When Bosnitch was having trials with Man U, they were told that as he had no work permit he was not allowed to play for them in any competitive games. The day after the Home Office received a letter from Man U that they agreed to this and understood it they played a football league cup tie against a london team can't remember which one. The next day's Gaurdian reported on the match and named Bosnitch man of the match. It did not go down well with the Home Office.

Just been reading about Dong Fangzhuo the chink at scum, he played in their pre season freindlies even though he doesn't have work permit , the report says players can play in NON COMPETETIVE matches without work permits, so Teymourian should have been able to play against burnley.

July 27, 200620 yr my first thought was that traf had this right, but if you watch the goals thing on sky on a saturday afternoon the jocks often have 'trialist' come up as scorer. so unless there is a new tribe up there not sure what the rules are. i once watched us play leeds in the reserves and cantonna was playing for leeds but had nt signed his contract, after he had refused a trial at sheff wed and because he was playing it was free to get in.
