Is everyone forgetting that we now don't have many defenders at the club (in fact less than last season)? We still need a right back and another centre-half (why get rid of Jaidi?) so we can't blow the whole kitty on Annelka, who will probably get here and sulk for a season!

I thought we played one up front? IMO davies does a good job at that.

We actually play much of the time with nobody upfront.

KD gets left isolated and has to either drop back for the ball or he pulls out to the wing, leaving nobody upfront.

I cannot see Sam letting Jaidi go without having a replacement in mind.

I hope not. I believe it will be the worst bit of business Sam has ever done to pay that much for an overrated sulk. If he does sign and scores 20 plus, I am happy to be proved wrong and will gladly hold my hands up and say I was.

It was 10 million Euro's that Fenerbache wanted for Anelka, which is about ??7.5 million.

I'd rather them spend ??10 million on two class midfielders (eg Malbranque and Muntari) than squander it on someone with a track record of throwing the towel in if he doesnt fancy it after a few months.

 

Diouf seems to like throwing the toys out of the pram, but the backroom team seem to have worked him out over summer. Maybe Anelka just needs his ego massaging on and off the pitch and he can produce the goods for a whole year?

fenerbahche definitely want 10.5 million pounds, we reportedly offered 7.5 million 2 months ago, i agree 10.5 million for Anelka is a major gamble, i would prefer the money spread round defence midfield and atttack, i just feel sam is thinking that Anelka wil guarantee goals and it would be another feather in his cap if he could control and motivate him.
