Let Him Rot!

Right, let???s cut the crap. Cut the bitching, the name calling and talk of breasts. It???s time for the club, the players and most of all the fans to unite against Nicolas Anelka.

I don???t care if Anelka is the best striker in the world and will score 75 goals, the fact is he insults every single one of us by making it quite clear he???s off if we don???t qualify for the Champions League. As we all know, the chances of BWFC making the Champions League are about as remote as Fat Sam ordering a salad. Anelka and his brothers aren???t stupid, they also know Bolton have no chance of finishing in the top 4.

Quite simply, Anelka has signed for the fat signing on fee in the knowledge the club will have to sell him next Summer when he pulls a huge strop. Another transfer, another 7 figure signing on fee for Nicolas.

Despite the fact you all know this is perfectly true and none of you would bet your mortgage on Anelka being a Bolton player this time next year, you seem reluctant to condemn the player. What the feck has happened to BWFC fans? We used to be renown the world over for turning on our own players if they didn???t perform to our high standards. Nowadays it seems a player can indirectly slag the club off before he???s kicked a ball and still be treated like a God.

Let me ask you a question. If you started dating a woman and after 2 weeks she announced she would stay with you for no longer than a year as she expected better men to be available by then, would you carry on seeing her? Not if you had any pride or self respect.

Bolton Wanderers used to be a proud old club, but since Fat Phil and Fat Sam took over there has been a remarkable lowering of moral standards. But now we stand on the threshold of a brave new world. A world where the clubs are in control, not the players and their agents. Bolton Wanderers Football Club can be the first to take a step into the new world by placing Anelka in the Reserves from the start and leaving him there.

We have come this far without Anelka, we can continue without him. But what a message it would send out to the world that BWFC won???t be dictated to by greedy players. Anelka???s career would affectively be over. And even better, everytime he refused to play for the Reserves (probably every week) we could fine him 2 weeks wages ??? we???d never have to pay him a bean.

Ok, so the one downfall to my plan is the ??8million loss. But there???s a simple way round it ??? you lot are always telling me what great fans you are so put your money where your mouth is. Say 15000 season ticket holders pay the club ??533.33 each they would recoup Anelka???s transfer fee almost immediately.

I admit it???s drastic, but I sat and watched Anelka???s press conference yesterday and felt a bit sick. No matter what he felt inside he should have been telling the world he couldn???t wait to pull on the famous white shirt and score the goals to win his place in history.

Instead, he was already talking about his next club. Anelka is a disgrace, and so are the Bolton fans if they don???t back me.

Harsh words, but its got a point. but personally and i reckon i speak for the majority

if Anelka bags 15/20goals this season and gets us into europe then i couldnt give a fook

what happens after that. As long as he dont upset morale within the team

It???s pointless rating my posts James, I post from the heart, not to entertain Bolton fans.

I agree with part of what you're saying.

His Press Conference didn't exactly do anything to dispel the lingering doubts I had when he signed.

Where I disagree is that the reaction of a fan of the club should be to 'let him rot'.

My reaction is to hope that the experiences he has at the club, the support of the fans and the bonds he makes with his team mates lead to Bolton being the team which he identifies with and settles at.

I think the best course of action is to back him all the way and stop using his history as some sort of self fullfilling prophecy. Tell him he's a whinger and he'll winge. Tell him he's the kind of bloke who takes your money and runs and he'll take your money and run. Tell him that you support him, respect him and want him to become a hero for the club and maybe, just maybe he will do ......?

I'm with Mr. Kent on this. It's not blind faith, it's belief and without that we're all doomed...doomed I tell thee!

Give the lad a chance. Folk on here are happy to give an ex-player another chance at this club after assaulting another member of staff at more than one club, which is their perogative but to not give a new signing at least a fair crack at the whip imo is just unjust and blinkered.

I hope you are right KW, I really do.

Unfortunately I have become very cynical in recent years, I just see players as greedy people who couldn???t care less about the club and its fans. And to see a player who hasn???t even kicked a ball yet talking about moving on ??? it makes me fear for the future of the game.

Give me a McGinlay over an Alelka any day of the week.

my thought exactly people would take todd back but you want a new player to rot in the reserves from day one. give the guy a chance let the guy touch a ball first

I wouldn???t take Todd back, I???d re-sign Steve McAnespie before Todd.

Normally I would give people a chance, but something about Anelka just makes me want to smack him. I just think this could be the biggest waste of ??8million in history.

Hope I???m wrong.

when and where has he said that he wants to move as soon as possible. you have to remeber that he treats football as a job, i always want to move up the ladder or have a better or more enjoyable job for myself and he is the same. if he wants to do well and play for france and move to a bigger club then he has to prove himself here at bolton.

I have no doubt that ANY player would want to move if a bigger club came in for them!

although if he is here in 4 years time i will be mightly surprise

for fcuk sake give the bloke a chance he has not even kicked a ball, you would love it more than him to score 15/20 goals for him to fall flat on his face would'nt you tash :nea:

Fair point. But if you started a new job on Monday you wouldn???t spend your first morning talking about not staying long if the company doesn???t go where you want it to.

I accept 99.9% of footballers would move to a bigger club given half a chance, but I???ve never seen anyone else give such a deadline to their new club before they???ve even kicked a ball.

Even if Anelka doesn???t mean it, I want to hear him say something positive about Bolton.

If Anelka gives us 20 plus goals this season, I could give a fcuk if he wants to move next year, because we'll get most of the money back we paid for him. I'm not worried or bothered if he wants to leave next year.

Hope I???m wrong.

Fair point, but if we continue our poor form away from home we ain???t going to get anywhere near a top 6 finish. If Anelka stops performing we won???t be able to sell him for half of what we paid.

to be fair i probably would i say things like that in interviews and i have a feeling anelka would have said similar things to sam

Now that you have admitted there is a fee involved, can you get your baps out please

Let me ask you a question. If you started dating a woman and after 2 weeks she announced she would stay with you for no longer than a year as she expected better men to be available by then, would you carry on seeing her? Not if you had any pride or self respect.

If I knew it was only a short term thing, but I knew I'd be turned on permanently and get great sex during that time: I reckon I could live with it. :D

and if he does perform, we'll be able to sell him for double...
