Does anyone else feel aggressive, annoyed etc, when you walk through Bolton town centre or Farnworth and see kids wearing Citeh tops or Man ure tops. I cant understand why they would opt for Citeh, who are behind us in many ways. Perhaps, I can see the glory hunting element buying Man Ure tops but FFS they live in BOLTON not Manchester. Years ago when we were in our worst period in living memory, it was more understandable, but now! You would have thought that we would have really turned the corner on this one, it appears that we have not. I find it hard not to say something to them, (I wouldnt hurt them though.) How do we cement the youth of Bolton into the heritage that is our beloved club? Perhaps, free tickets for schools on a rota basis for selected games? Anybody any thoughts on this infuriating situation ?

If the kids are only young then maybe there parents or older brothers etc jumped on bandwagon from the 90's when United were winning trophies and got them 'supporting', there's not much you can do, it's the same all over the north west and the country. To be fair i do see more Bolton shirts knocking about than i used to. I think it's all down to the parents if they follow Bolton then the kids more often than not will but if they don't or they don't get taken to games then they'll always go for the big more fashionable clubs, with the big names Rooney etc it's easier to get dragged along with most of the other kids instead of being in the minority following Bolton, depending on where you live of course. I work with two City season ticket holders who both live in Bolton and apparently there is a big following for City in Bolton or so they tell me

outside of bolton they're generally tucked away in a corner with the sunderland kits (same applies for blackburn kits too)

 

whilst citeh, manyoo liverpool, chelski, arsenal even everton get a prime spot by the door on separate gondolas!

in the jjb in the trafford centre u cant buy a bolton top and ur lucky if u can find one in any of the other shops including sports world the nearest place for me to get a new top is the sports world in bury iv tryed in manchester city centre but its a hard find

Mr Whelan has a particular dislike of all things Boltonian, we should boycott his stores. In the Trafford Centre, Wigan shirts are featured on the JJB shop window posters. Don't expect miracles but it would be nice to be acknowledged as actually existing!! I wear my shirt with pride whenever I go to Manchester or the Trafford Centre,,. My wife isnt impressed bu it makes me feel better about a shopping trip.

Never mind City and United tops becasue you'll always see them. I've driven through Bolton and I've even seen bleedin' Arsenal and Chelsea tops.

Even seen a couple of Wiggin tops, now they are sad fookers!

I always buy the home shirt, rarely the away, However, I do not endorse the wearing of football shirts on grown ups for shopping trips, at the airport, or at the pub! supermarket is ok, or popping for a paper etc and of course match days but apart from that i dont wanna see em!

Yes but that is the same attitude as fans of different clubs have which mean we all have to see utd, city, wigan etc shirts wanderering about town, which pisses me off, so if i wore mine id be a hypocrite. I see someone in a rival shirt i immediately take a dislike to them, and therefore probably them to us, but i wouldn't wear mine anyway, not out and about, i like them for lounging about in at home or nipping out for a loaf etc. but a shopping trip to town or out for a few jars i would be more comfortable wearing something a bit smarter. I too am proud to be associated with the wanderers wherever i go, but i dont need to shout it from the roof tops.

JJB in Guildford had last seasons away kit on the front of a rack, sitting as proud as the Chelsea and Man Utd kits.

 

There was only one left as well so I reckon they must have sold all the rest!

thats never been the case for me but i havent been for about a year. we should count are selve lucky i once went into a sports shop might have been a jjb, would have been about 94 - 95 and the shop assistant didt even know bolton had a team, me thinks they were takeing the piss slightly
