Churchill Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 You right, but maybe a deadline day would be nice,or maybe a bit of notice on the club site!
Windsor White Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 tickets have been on sale for long enough for people to buy them. the club has to send the tickets back to sheffield so they can see how many have been sold and decide wether to sell on the day. if there are loads left you will be able to pay on the day, if not you should have got one sooner. it aint the ticket office who are numb nuts in this instance is it ? I must apologise to the ticket office for being such an inconvenience. If i had the opportunity to buy a ticket sooner, I would have. Due to work commitments, i was not expecting to have this weekend off. On Tuesday, found out I had been given a weekend off, so thought i would make the 230 mile trip up north to bolton, and go and watch my team. So Ani, please forgive me for not buying a ticket in advance for a game I didn't think i could go to

twiggy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 i'll be there including my pies wrapped in tin foil :p

IMO, they are numb nuts. Why not tell everyone they are sending them back on Wednesday. I was going to go and get some tomorrow, after finding out today I can go. If I knew they were sending them back today, I'd have rang up and spent the ??1.50. Now I'm hoping its pay on the door. As usual their communication skills drive you nuts!

ANI, I am going to have to disagree with you here. I said to you today that I hadn't decided what I was doing, I am tempted to go though. With the game being on Saturday, I wouldn't say that leaving it until Weds or Thurs to buy a ticket is unreasonable. The club has not communicated anything about tickets not being available, if I'd popped down on my way to work today to be told they'd sent them back, without warning, I'd be f??cking livid. Do they have to pay for unsold tickets? I don't know.

Do they have to pay for unsold tickets? I don't know. the normal arrangement (i was told by the club when we played pompey away when we lost 4-0) is that tickets that are not returned have to be paid for. i went for about 10 tickets day before and they took them out of the players allocation. * i can not argue about the communication being bad, but the logic of sending the tickets back is sound. i am 99% sure to sell on the day you need an ok from police and they will only give that if they know how many tickets are left, hence need to return them. if tomorrow it announced can pay on the day then they have done the right thing, as people can then get a ticket even if they only decide on saturday morning to go *4-0 i was grateful for them sorting the tickets till it turned out i was driving there and back, was home for about half one. still not sure how we ended up on m25 coming home !

I don't quite understand why we have to send the tickets back on a Wednesday for a Saturday game. If Sheffield United and the police want to know how many we've got left, ring and tell them. Surely the tickets could be returned as late as Friday lunchtime and still sell them at Bramall Lane on Saturday (if need be).

We don't need to send the tickets back to let them know how many are left do we? Surely they can make a reasonably well informed decision based on information we can provide? Maybe South Yorks Police are especially touchy after they got the blame when thousands of ticketless Scousers turned up and killed 96 of their own (IMO etc.).

Traf Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Surely the Ticket Office could have rang everybody on the database and asked if they wanted to buy a ticket.

Ani Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 What if you're not some sad c??nt who plans in advance? Were not all 40-somethings who own a diary you will be panicking about getting a ticket, assuming you were thinking of getting off your arse and making the journey :p
Guest as Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 you will be panicking about getting a ticket, assuming you were thinking of getting off your arse and making the journey :p I wasn't, just fishing
Ani Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I wasn't, just fishing Pity was hoping someone with some drugs would be.......................... I will accept PMs on this subject !!!
Mounts Kipper Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 i think it is very poor communication from the club, all they have to do is say tickets are on sale until wednesday on the official website and the evening news, the club have a duty to supply information regarding ticket info, some one needs to drag the ticket office and the club into the real world, i will post a message for Mike Needham, i think this needs sorting out in future.
Churchill Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Just spoken to the ticket office and they said you can still purchase them now,or pay on the door!
Churchill Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 One adult ticket purchased, and being sent out in the post!He was trying his best to make me buy one on the day.lazy fooooooooookers!
Carlos Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 i will post a message for Mike Needham, i think this needs sorting out in future. Are you having a laugh? Is he having a laugh? What has Mike Needham EVER done for us?
Churchill Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Are you having a laugh? Is he having a laugh? What has Mike Needham EVER done for us? Carlos you've got to stop saying that,it's making me look a right weirdo just bursting out laughin!
Eddie Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 its pay on the day, there was about 400 left Does this mean that you will have to buy a ticket from the ticket office at Sheffield, or will you just be able to pay at the turnstile?
Exiled Girl Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 1400 sold this morning Well if they can sell 1400 just in one morning we must be taking a fair few more than we took to Blackburn.
Guest DaveBWFC Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Just spoke to Sheffield ticket office. They said they will be all going on the turnstile. I asked how many are left and she said there must be a load because they are going on sale on the turnstiles only.
