But you don`t smoke!

But you don`t smoke!

he is thinking of starting just wants to make sure he can stop

I gave up seven weeks ago using nicotine patches.

I don't actually know whether they work or not (i.e. placebo or not) but I've not smoked in that 7 weeks.

Problem with them, though, I think they've used Bostik as the adhesive. The glue residue is impossible to shift!

Giving up smoking is a piece of piss.

Done it loads of times :pardon:

All you have to do is don't have the first one every day.

I'm fine, i'm only a social smoker.

I only smoke when I drink.

my work are giving people free patches as they are banning smoking on site. i am thinking of starting just to get my money out the company

After smoking for 30years+, I went to a hypnotherapist. After 2 days where I could have eaten a cigarette, I have not smoked since, and it never bothered me after the first 2 days, even having a drink in the pub etc. That was over 4 years ago.

I thought the hypnotherapy idea was bollocks, but it has worked for me, and several friends.

My ex-wife once asked me if I smoked after sex,,,, I told her I'd never looked. :)

I have just redone the T&S'c for the lads via a Human Resources provider. One of their questions was 'what is your policy on smoking at work?.'

'Positively encouraged' was my response.

'Do you have any company vehicles?'

'Yes, I have 4 vans and a pickup'

'Do you own them or hire them?'

'Own them'

'How many lads travel in these vehicles?'

'3 in each'

'And do they smoke?'

'They are groundworkers, it is a pre-requsit'

'From July they wont be able to smoke in them, nor the brew cabin'

'Well you tell em that because I'm not'

I once ate one on a bus coming home from manchester, because I was parched and thought it might get my saliva glands going.

A daft thing I know, but I was only about 14.

Drew would also like to point out that he is currently 38 years old. :pardon:

I tried smoking as a 14 year old - I thought it would look cool and make me run faster.

As it happened, my mate who gave me my first snout had ''loaded'' it with a match. 2 drags in I lost all my nasal hair, half an eyebrow and the will to ever touch another bine. I can still taste the sulphur to this day.

Worked for me. Try it.
