Beer Token Gets A Full Roll Out

Featured Replies

After the successful trial in the Blackburn game, the pre-purchase beer token will be introduced across all kiosks on Saturday.

Fancy a Pint

I know we have discussed this before but I can not recall mention of the pints being "pre-poured and sealed to retain freshness" during the trial.

For those who took part in the trial by buying a "queue busting beer token" was the pint pre-poured and sealed?

How did the scheme work - did you get your pint in no time at all?

Did the pint "retain its freshness"?!!

Didn't go to the last game. So, can you buy the tokens from anywhere else, other than the kiosk where you are trying to buy your pint???? Have they got those guys walking round with barrels on their backs like they do at other sporting events?

One presumes that someone at the club has bothered to:

  • Let the staff in on the plan
  • Teach the staff how to put the lids on
  • Remind the staff that at some point during the first half on Saturday they should be pouring ale.

At the Blackburn game i had two pre poured pints and they worse than the shit we normally get!

Fook doing that again!

We should sell plastic bottles like most away games. It much quicker and the beer is not flat!

:good:

wsl worked a treat, will be ordering again on sat.

well done bolton :drinks:

"Keep the freshness"

Or it will taste much more like piss than it did before.

Good to see the club doing something. I was part of a group from WW who presented this issue to the club over a year ago. This is the first action I have seen taken.

I shall watch with interest if the usual look of suicide on the faces of the regulars in the West Stand Upper is replaced by a look of frothy merriment!

Spot on.

Well? How did it go?

5 minutes into half time, the young lad decided he wanted a drink, i went to the bar in esl and there were 3 people before me, got served in less than 5 minutes by someone who understood and was polite.

before game (was early ) again we got served straight away, the person before me left something on the counter and the lad behind the counter went to find them because the drink was for a young kid, again very polite and quick service, could nt really fault them to be honest.

Went down 30 seconds before the h/t whistle and had 4 pints in hand within 30 seconds.

its a winner for me, pints had lids on, as for freshness, wtf!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinks:

How big is your hand?

I was very disappointed with the new system. I met a few lads in town in the morning and had quite a few bevvies. We talked about this new beer voucher system and it was my turn to get 'em in at half time, so it was my chance to test it out.

I watched the match until 2 minutes before half-time and went down to the bar. I queued up for 15 minutes and when I finally got to the front I asked for 4 vouchers please. He said that they had stopped selling the beer tokens so there was none for me and my mates. I wasn't very happy and told 'em what I thought and stormed off. I told the lads what had happened. The good news is that when they joined the queue they only had a 10 minute wait.

What I had said to the bar staff earlier must have done the trick because the lads did somehow get a pint each, even though they missed the start of the second half. They didn't manage to me a pint though, there must have only been a few left.

I thought the whole point was to buy the token before the first half starts so you have a reduced queue time at half time?

Yes you have to buy your tokens pre match
