The True Marple White Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 I think Coleman would be good for the job. Depends if he wants to move north
forever white Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 The next manager needs to be big enough to peruade our big names to stay. Forget Sam now we have more pressing matters in building on the current small squad not building a new one.
exiledwhite2 Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Well all this thread has done is confirm how hard it will be to replace Sam. Chris Coleman !!! Jesus Think Casino is right - it's gotta be Little Sam. Seemed odd that he faced the press yesterday - Ricky whatsisface usually does the honours. And they are talking about having the new person in for the last 2 games. All adds up. What worries me is he has no experience. We're going from an experienced, proven guy to an unknown quantity. Can't help but suspect he'd already be in a job if he was that good. I think the parallels with Phil Neal are what worry me most.
pike_mill_white Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) Get Joe Royal in. He's good at getting promotion which we will need in 2 seasons time. Or get Roy Keane it. He's done a superb job. Edited April 29, 2007 by pike_mill_white
Happy Wanderer Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Whoever comes needs to be a bigger name than Allardyce. The club need to move onwards and upwards. Now is the time to move to the 'next level if you know what I mean. The only problem for me is the board not making funds available to the manager. It was said Allardyce was brassed off with running the club on a shoe-string. If they want a top mamager to bring in the 'best' players then the club need to put the money on the table. I'm deeply disappointed in all that has gone on over this last couple of days and to me the timing is very poor from Allardyce. Personal reasons or not, I for one cannot forgive the man.
Eddie Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 If it was up to me I would get Billy Davies in. Now Derby haven't got automatic promotion I doubt they will go up through the Play Off's. This will mean that we would have a great chance of getting him. Another option for me would be to appoint Sammy Lee as manager, he knows how things are done, he knows the players, probably a lot better than Sam did, and I would put Speed somewhere in there to. Ian Dowie will be a name that is mentioned a lot just because of the fact that he lives here and is out of a job, personally I wouldn't take him on, he has never really done anything special with a club.
The True Marple White Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Ian Dowie is manager at coventry at present
The Moose Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Announcement being made tomorrow. Press conference at 11.00a.m. Sammy Lee and Gary Sped expected to be named as new management team.

uriah rennie Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 billy davies might be able to talk nugent into coming to.

Eddie Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 So he is, forgot about that, I'm sure though that if we wanted him the fact that he is Coventry manager wouldn't stop him.
brixton Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Announcement being made tomorrow. Press conference at 11.00a.m. Sammy Lee and Gary Sped expected to be named as new management team. Joint manager teams do not work. Remember Mcfarlane and Todd? No doubt Phil Brown will be linked with the job.

Guest ph30 Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 aidy botheroyd could be tempted away from Watford. Chris Coleman said yesterday he was looking to get back into managing. Its a huge job - Sam has set high standards, resurected countless careers and managed to handle players that most would stay well clear of. Think Billy Davies would be a fantastic aquistition although it will be sammy lee, at least for the rest of the season

Think Billy Davies would be a fantastic aquistition although it will be sammy lee, at least for the rest of the season I had forgotten about him. IMO he would be a great man for the job, eventhough he has been relagated this seaon, I think it's because he has such a shite squad and no money at all, with a better club I recon he could do well.
Casino Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 (edited) if the statement is to be believed, there won't be any temporary appointments just thinking that if it was to be sammy lee, why bother with the press conference tomorrow just seems odd and boothroyd is a way second best version of sam i thought people at least wanted to be entertained as we plummet down the leagues Edited April 29, 2007 by Casino
exiledwhite2 Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 just thinking that if it was to be sammy lee, why bother with the press conference tomorrow just seems odd Why? They'd announce an internal appointment at a press conference wouldn't they?
Casino Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 so why not do it today? it could've been included in the statement?
tylswhite Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 if we appoint chris coleman my season ticket application will be through the shredder!! Also if they said he went now because he wants the new manager to get a feel for the job then surely it cant little sammy coz he already seen how the club works and all that??
