No boat rocking....Sammy Lee knows all the Bolton systems.

(I can't think of anyone with a good enough proven pedigree that could come straight in and embrace the technology and all BS's new wave thinking!!)

hate to say this but i thinks its either an empty stadium and sven or the chant of "roy keane's barmy army"

Your intent on Sven or Roy Keane.

It won't be either

little sam our club always takes the easy option (not saying he would do a bad job he knows the workings of the club). maybe this is why ls turned down the england u21 job

You took the words out of my mouth. It all fits into place Big Sam told Garside he was leaving months ago (according to the papers at any rate) , Little Sam was going to be England under 21 manager and then changed his mind to remain number 2 at The Whites. Sounds to me like he was offered the managers job then, to be announced when the season finishes, but the news leaking out has brought matters to a head.Sammy Lee will be announced as our next permanent manager with Gary Speed as No 2 in the next couple of days (Big Sam says the new man is going to be in charge for the last couple of games, if it was an external appointment things couldn't possibly move that quick).

As for some of the other suggestions on here, Svens to expensive for us and would be a disasterous choice and Keane won't to leave Sunderland now they're promoted anyway.

As i said on another thread Steve Coppell would be a good choice IMO but whether we could tempt him away from Reading is another matter.

I dont think there is any doubt that they will announced "Little Sam" as the the new Bolton boss tomorrow. Gartside couldnt of put it clearer with the "the best things come in small packages" statement, Put that together with Big Sams official statement that it is benificial for my succesor to be in place for the remaining matches, for me there is no debate: Sammy Lee Manager, Ricky Sbragia asst Manager, Possibly Gary Speed 1st team coach.

I don't think that will be a good move. Sammy Lee (nice bloke though he may be) has no management experience. We need someone with a bigger pedigree to be able to handle our league of nations. As Kevin Davies seems to be saying Bolton need to get this appointment right. Rushing it could be a disaster ....

Big Sam was a legend, I can't believe some of you are being so critical over him.....this has been the most successful era in the clubs history and some of you are calling him 'Judas'? Pricks!

Wake up will you....!!

The man obviously has ambitions to win things, being honest he's not going to do that at Bolton. I wish him well where ever he may end up....hopefully not City though, let's face it - they are shit.

On the positive side, we've been playing some pretty dull/boring football over these last 18 months. So I'm hoping a new manager will come in and shake things up - have us playing some exciting passing football, not Nicky Hunt 70 yard long balls to Davies!

Everything points towards little Sam taking over, hopefully he'll have some fresh ideas to take us forward beyond the Big Sam era.

On-line bookies have closed their books and they are rarely wrong.

Vast majourity of bets have come on Sammy Lee.

Gartside's statement on Sky Sports News of "...who knows, better things might come in smaller packages" gave it away!

IMO its as it is with Speedo added to coaching staff

hope its not sammy lee, we need a manager who can attract quality players to the club, sammy lee is a good coach and not manager, same as phil brown, steve mclaren, brian kidd and carlos the munich assistant.

Utter shite

How can you make that statement until the man has been a manager

Virtually every manager started as a coach somewhere - Big Sam included

so how sucessfull were these as mangers of there clubs, only pointing out that they were good coaches and poor managers.

will back little sam, but i think its the wrong decision,

Sensible Choice is Sammy Lee and Speedo but not sure its the right one on all accounts... Fair enough he knows sam's systems etc and the players may be tempted to stay if he takes it on but the lack of experience is one that gets me. i know there is only one direction we can go from here but we need a big name in to keep us in the top six.

Billy Davies, Boothroyd or Pardew
