Meite and Faye aren't breaking any pots. And TBH plays well in spats. Hammerings by Utd twice, Boro, WHU, Spurs, etc - I cannot see this "strong" defence at Bolton. Newcastle - according to Chris Waddle - should be aiming higher than BSA. Wenger, Mourinho and SGE are better targets for them. BSA is not proven at a big club with money to spend. He might not cope. He has been great as a big fish in a small pond - but Newcastle is a feckin' great Ocean and he may well struggle with the demand. Waddle also went on to say he would like a manager given at least a 5-year-plan to get things right. Not instant success. Stop the rot in the first season. Improvements in the 2nd season and then assaults on Cups and European places.... before ultimately trying to challenge with top 4. Newcastle are potentially a bigger club than Arsenal and Chelsea - so no reason why this cannot be achieved. But is BSA the man for that challenge?

He was slagging England off something rotten last summer, then suggests they should be going for SGE? If someone like Sam isn't given an opportunity to manage a big club in England, then there really is zero hope for English coaches.

This must mean that Gartside could have pulled a little master stroke here. The only way we can get compensation for BSA is if we are still paying him. Now IMO, I think Gartside knew that BSA would get a new job pretty soon into the summer so has taken the risk to either carry on paying BSA or to pay him up. Thus, when he gets his new job Bolton get compensation for the 2 years remaining on BSA contract. Gartside comes in for some stick on here but I think his dealings with BSA's exit have been spot on in protecting the future of our club.
