Left for 'health reasons'. He swore to Whelan on 'his children's lives' that he's not been tapped up and he's leaving for his health. I believe him. It's on the video interview with Whelan. On Jewell's last interview he says having 4 or 5 last day scrapes in his career isn't good for his health.

whelan also pointed out he'd had a fall out with his wife and family that was affecting him, which i thought was good of him to point out
